Removal [02/2014 - 11/2016]: Procedure

- PRECAUTION NOTE:
- Perform the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) registration when replacing the ECM.
Refer to REGISTRATION [02/2014 - 11/2016]
- After turning the power switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal notice before proceeding with work.

- Perform the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) registration when replacing the ECM.
- REMOVE DECK BOARD ASSEMBLY
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1 , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1
- REMOVE NO. 3 DECK BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2 , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2
- DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL NOTE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.
Refer to INITIALIZATION [02/2014 - 11/2016]
- REMOVE ECM
- Raise the 2 levers while pushing the locks on the levers, and disconnect the 2 ECM connectors.NOTE:
After disconnecting the ECM connectors, make sure that dirt, water or other foreign matter does not contact the connecting parts of the ECM connectors.
- Disengage the wire harness clamp.
- Disengage the 2 wire harness clamps.
- Disengage the cooler pipe clamp.
- Remove the 3 bolts and ECM.NOTE:
If the ECM has been struck or dropped, replace it.
- Remove the 2 bolts and wire harness clamp bracket from the ECM.
- Raise the 2 levers while pushing the locks on the levers, and disconnect the 2 ECM connectors.
- REMOVE ECM BRACKET
- REMOVE NO. 2 ECM BRACKET
- REMOVE ENGINE ROOM ECU COVER
- REMOVE ENGINE ROOM ECU BOX
- Remove the engine room ECU box from the ECM.
