DTC C1622: Back Camera Disconnected [12/2013 - 11/2016]: Procedure

  1. CONFIRM MODEL 
    1. Choose the model to be inspected.

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TELEVISION CAMERA ASSEMBLY - NAVIGATION RECEIVER ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the X12 television camera assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the F117 navigation receiver assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      X12-6 (CB+) - F117-11 (CA+) Always Below 1 Ω
      X12-3 (CV+) - F117-12 (V+) Always Below 1 Ω
      X12-2 (CV-) - F117-24 (V-) Always Below 1 Ω
      X12-5 (CGND) - F117-23 (CGND) Always Below 1 Ω
      X12-6 (CB+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      X12-3 (CV+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      X12-2 (CV-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      X12-5 (CGND) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  3. INSPECT NAVIGATION RECEIVER ASSEMBLY (V-, CGND, CA+) 
    1. Reconnect the F117 navigation receiver assembly connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F117-24 (V-) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      F117-23 (CGND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      *a Component with harness connected
      (Navigation Receiver Assembly)
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F117-11 (CA+) - F117-23 (CGND) Engine switch on (ACC) 5.5 to 7.05 V

    REPLACE NAVIGATION RECEIVER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2013 - ]

  4. INSPECT NAVIGATION RECEIVER ASSEMBLY (V+, GND1) 
    1. Reconnect the X12 television camera assembly connector.
    2. Using an oscilloscope, check the waveform of the television camera assembly.

      *a Component with harness connected
      (Navigation Receiver Assembly)

      HINT: 

      A waterproof connector is used for the television camera assembly. Therefore, inspect the waveform at the navigation receiver assembly with the connector connected.

      Waveform is similar to that shown in the illustration.

      Measurement setting 200 mV/DIV., 50 μs./DIV.
      Condition Engine switch on (IG), shift lever in R

      HINT: 

      • The video waveform changes according to the image sent by the television camera assembly.
      • The video waveform is constantly output when the engine switch is on (ACC).

    REPLACE TELEVISION CAMERA ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2013 - ] 

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TELEVISION CAMERA ASSEMBLY - RADIO AND DISPLAY RECEIVER ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the X12 television camera assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the F72 radio and display receiver assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      X12-6 (CB+) - F72-11 (CA+) Always Below 1 Ω
      X12-3 (CV+) - F72-12 (V+) Always Below 1 Ω
      X12-2 (CV-) - F72-24 (V-) Always Below 1 Ω
      X12-5 (CGND) - F72-23 (CGND) Always Below 1 Ω
      X12-6 (CB+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      X12-3 (CV+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      X12-2 (CV-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      X12-5 (CGND) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    1. Reconnect the F72 radio and display receiver assembly connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      F72-24 (V-) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      F72-23 (CGND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

    1. Reconnect the X12 television camera assembly connector.
    2. Using an oscilloscope, check the waveform of the television camera assembly.

      (Radio and Display Receiver Assembly)

      HINT: 

      A waterproof connector is used for the television camera assembly. Therefore, inspect the waveform at the radio and display receiver assembly with the connector connected.
