Removal [12/2013 - ]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    NOTE:

    After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

    Refer to PRECAUTION [12/2013 - 11/2016] , or refer to PRECAUTION [11/2016 - ]

  2. REMOVE FRONT SEAT HEADREST ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the front seat headrest assembly from the front seat assembly.
  3. REMOVE FRONT OUTER SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER 
    1. Operate the slide and vertical power seat switch knob and move the front seat assembly to the rearmost position.
    2. Disengage the 2 claws as shown in the illustration.

    3. Disengage the 2 guides to remove the front outer seat track bracket cover as shown in the illustration.

  4. REMOVE FRONT INNER SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER 
    1. Disengage the 2 claws as shown in the illustration.

    2. Disengage the 2 guides to remove the front inner seat track bracket cover as shown in the illustration.

  5. REMOVE SEAT TRACK COVER 
    1. Operate the slide and vertical power seat switch knob and move the front seat assembly to the foremost position.
    2. Disengage the 2 claws as shown in the illustration.

    3. Disengage the 2 guides to remove the seat track cover as shown in the illustration.

  6. REMOVE INNER SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER 
    1. Disengage the 2 claws as shown in the illustration.

    2. Disengage the 2 guides to remove the inner seat track bracket cover as shown in the illustration.

  7. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY (for Driver Side) 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts on the rear side of the front seat assembly.

    2. Operate the slide and vertical power seat switch knob and move the front seat assembly to the rearmost position.
    3. Remove the 2 bolts on the front side of the front seat assembly.

    4. Operate the slide and vertical power seat switch knob and move the front seat assembly to the uppermost position.
    5. Operate the reclining power seat switch knob and move the seatback to the upright position.
    6. Operate the slide and vertical power seat switch knob and move the front seat assembly to the center position.
    7. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
      WARNING:

      Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

      NOTE:

      When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

      Refer to INITIALIZATION [12/2013 - 11/2016] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [11/2016 - ]

    8. Disconnect the front seat airbag assembly connector under the front seat assembly.
      NOTE:

      When disconnecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

      1. Push down the white housing lock and slide the yellow CPA. (At this time, the connector cannot be disconnected yet.)

      2. Push down the white housing lock again and disconnect the connector.
        NOTE:

        Do not push down the part (A) shown in the illustration when disconnecting the connector.

    9. Disconnect each connector and disengage each clamp under the front seat assembly.
    10. Remove the front seat assembly.

      NOTE:

      Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.

  8. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY (for Front Passenger Side) 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts on the rear side of the front seat assembly.

    2. Operate the slide and vertical power seat switch knob and move the front seat assembly to the rearmost position.
    3. Remove the 2 bolts on the front side of the front seat assembly.

    4. Operate the reclining power seat switch knob and move the seatback to the upright position.
    5. Operate the slide and vertical power seat switch knob and move the front seat assembly to the center position.
    6. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
      WARNING:

    7. Disconnect the front seat airbag assembly connector under the front seat assembly.
      NOTE:

      2. Push down the white housing lock again and disconnect the connector.
        NOTE:

        Do not push down the part (A) shown in the illustration when disconnecting the connector.

    8. Disconnect the front seat airbag sub-assembly RH connector under the front seat assembly.
      NOTE:

      When disconnecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

      1. Slide the slider to release the lock, and then disconnect the connector.

    9. Disconnect each connector and disengage each clamp under the front seat assembly.
    10. Remove the front seat assembly.

      NOTE:

      Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.
