On-Vehicle Inspection [12/2013 - ]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 24 , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 24

  2. INSPECT NO. 1 VACUUM SWITCHING VALVE 
    1. Slide the clip and disconnect the No. 1 air hose (connected to the air cleaner hose) from the No. 1 vacuum switching valve.

    2. Move the shift lever to P and apply the parking brake.
    3. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3, and then turn the ignition switch to ON.
    4. Turn the Techstream on.
    5. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Active Test / Activate the Brake Ejector VSV.

      Powertrain > Engine and ECT > Active Test 

      Tester Display
      Activate the Brake Ejector VSV
    6. Start the engine.
    7. Using the Techstream, turn off the No. 1 vacuum switching valve (Brake Ejector VSV: CLOSE).
    8. Use your finger to confirm that the No. 1 vacuum switching valve has no suction.

    9. Using the Techstream, turn on the No. 1 vacuum switching valve (Brake Ejector VSV: OPEN).
    10. Use your finger to confirm that the No. 1 vacuum switching valve has suction.
    11. Turn the Techstream off and turn the ignition switch off.
    12. Disconnect the Techstream from the DLC3.
    13. Connect the No. 1 air hose to the No. 1 vacuum switching valve, and slide the clip to secure it.
  3. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 67 , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 67
