Glass Hatch Opener System does not Operate [12/2013 - ]: Procedure

  1. CONFIRM MODEL 
    1. Choose the model to be inspected.

  2. CHECK SMART KEY SYSTEM (for Entry Function) 
    1. Check if the entry glass hatch open function operates normally.

      Refer to OPERATION CHECK [12/2013 - ]

      OK

      Entry glass hatch open function operates normally.

    Result:  2

    NG 

    GO TO SMART KEY SYSTEM (for Entry Function). Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [12/2013 - ]

  3. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Data List.
    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

      Body Electrical > Main Body > Data List

      Glass Hatch Courtesy Switch Back window courtesy switch signal OFF or ON OFF: Back door glass closed

      The Techstream display changes correctly in response to the opening and closing operation of the back door glass.

  4. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Data List.
    2. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

  5. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Active Test.
    2. Perform the Active Test according to the display on the Techstream.

  6. INSPECT G/H NO. 1 RELAY 
    1. Inspect the G/H No. 1 relay.

      Refer to ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION [12/2013 - ]

    REPLACE G/H NO. 1 RELAY

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (G/H NO. 1 RELAY - BATTERY) 
    1. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      *1 G/H No. 1 Relay Holder

      Standard Voltage

  8. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (G/H NO. 1 RELAY - MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU)) 
    1. Disconnect the F18 main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) connector.

      *1 G/H No. 1 Relay Holder
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G/H No. 1 relay holder terminal 1 - F18-21 (GHRY) Always Below 1 Ω
      G/H No. 1 relay holder terminal 1 or F18-21 (GHRY) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  9. INSPECT BACK WINDOW LOCK ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the back window lock assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [12/2013 - ]

    2. Inspect the back window lock assembly.

      Refer to INSPECTION [12/2013 - ]

    REPLACE BACK WINDOW LOCK ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2013 - ]

  10. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BACK WINDOW LOCK ASSEMBLY - G/H NO. 1 RELAY AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the X11 back window lock assembly connector.

      *1 G/H No. 1 Relay Holder
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      X11-3 (+) - G/H No. 1 relay holder terminal 3 Always Below 1 Ω
      X11-3 (+) or G/H No. 1 relay holder terminal 3 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      X11-2 (-) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

    REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU). Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2013 - ]

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  11. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (GLASS HATCH OPENER SWITCH ASSEMBLY - MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU) AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the X10 glass hatch opener switch assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the F18 main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      X10-2 (B) - F18-28 (GOSW) Always Below 1 Ω
      X10-2 (B) or F18-28 (GOSW) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      X10-1 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  12. INSPECT GLASS HATCH OPENER SWITCH ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the glass hatch opener switch assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [12/2013 - ]

    2. Inspect the glass hatch opener switch assembly.

      Refer to INSPECTION [12/2013 - ]

      Result

    Result:  1

    OK 

    REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU). Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2013 - ]

    REPLACE GLASS HATCH OPENER SWITCH ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2013 - ]
