Hazard Warning Switch Circuit [12/2013 - ]: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Data List.
    5. Read the display on the Techstream.

      Body Electrical > Combination Meter > Data List

      Hazard Flasher Switch Hazard warning signal switch signal ON or OFF ON: Hazard warning signal switch on
      OFF: Hazard warning signal switch off

    PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [12/2013 - 11/2016]  Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [11/2016 - ] 

    Result:  2

    NG

  2. INSPECT AIR CONDITIONING CONTROL ASSEMBLY (HAZARD WARNING SIGNAL SWITCH) 
    1. Remove the air conditioning control assembly (hazard warning signal switch).

      Refer to REMOVAL [12/2013 - ]

    2. Inspect the air conditioning control assembly (hazard warning signal switch).

      Refer to INSPECTION [12/2013 - ]

      Result

      Proceed to

      NG

    Result:  2

    NG 

    REPLACE AIR CONDITIONING CONTROL ASSEMBLY (HAZARD WARNING SIGNAL SWITCH). Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2013 - ] 

    Result:  1

    OK

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AIR CONDITIONING CONTROL ASSEMBLY (HAZARD WARNING SIGNAL SWITCH) - COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the F21 combination meter assembly connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F32-7 (HAZ) - F21-5 (HAZ) Always Below 1 Ω
      F32-7 (HAZ) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F32-5 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:  1

    OK 

    REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2013 - ] 

    Result:  2

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
