DTC C1A4B: Stop Light Relay Circuit [08/2015 - ]: Procedure
- CHECK STOP LIGHT OPERATION
- Check that the stop lights operation. Refer to OPERATION CHECK [08/2015 - ]

Stop lights come on when the brake pedal is depressed, and go off when the brake pedal is released with the engine switch on (IG).

OK: Go to next step
- Check that the stop lights operation. Refer to OPERATION CHECK [08/2015 - ]

- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (STOP RELAY POWER SOURCE)
- Turn the engine switch off.
- Remove the STOP relay from the No. 2 engine room relay block and junction block assembly.
- Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (STP TERMINAL)
- Turn the engine switch off.
- Disconnect the A94 skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) connector.
- Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (STOP LIGHT VOLTAGE)
- Turn the engine switch off.
- Remove the STOP relay from the No. 2 engine room relay block and junction block assembly.
- Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

- PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (STOP LIGHT RELAY, STOP LIGHT RELAY OUTPUT)
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the engine switch on (IG).
- Turn the Techstream on.
- Enter the following menus: Chassis / ABS/VSC/TRAC / Active Test.
- Perform Active Test according to the display on Techstream.ABS/VSC/TRAC

- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (STOP RELAY - SKID CONTROL ECU (BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY))
- Turn the engine switch off.
- Disconnect the A94 skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) connector.
- Remove the STOP relay from the No. 2 engine room relay block and junction block assembly.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition Relay holder terminal 1 - A94-3 (STPO) Always Below 1 Ω Relay holder terminal 1 or A94-3 (STPO) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher - Reinstall the STOP relay from the No. 2 engine room relay block and junction block assembly.
- Reconnect the A94 skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) connector.
NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK: Go to next step
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (STOP RELAY - SKID CONTROL ECU (BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY))
- Turn the engine switch off.
- Disconnect the A94 skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) connector.
- Remove the STOP relay from the No. 2 engine room relay block and junction block assembly.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance

- Reconnect the A94 skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) connector.
NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK: Go to next step
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (STP2 TERMINAL)
- Turn the engine switch off.
- Disconnect the A94 skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) connector.
- Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

OK: Go to next step
- CHECK FOR DTC (PRE-COLLISION 2)
- Turn the engine switch off and wait for at least 2 minutes.
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the engine switch on (IG).
- Turn the Techstream on.
- Clear the DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [08/2015 - ] .
- Make sure that the DTC detection conditions are met.
HINT:
If the detection conditions are not met, the system cannot detect the malfunction.
- Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Pre-Collision 2 / Trouble Codes.
- Check for DTCs.
OK
DTC C1A4B is not output.
