DTC P0717: Input Speed Sensor Circuit No Signal; DTC P07BF: Input/Turbine Speed Sensor "A" Circuit Low; DTC P07C0: Input/Turbine Speed Sensor "A" Circuit High [08/2015 - ]: Procedure

  1. INSPECT TRANSMISSION REVOLUTION SENSOR (SPEED SENSOR INSTALLATION) 
    1. Remove the valve body assembly.
    2. Make sure that the connector is properly connected, and check the speed sensor installation. Refer to INSTALLATION [08/2015 - ] .

      OK

      The installation bolt is tightened properly and there is no clearance between the sensor and transaxle case.

    NG → See step   6 

    OK: Go to next step 

  2. INSPECT TRANSMISSION WIRE 
    1. Remove the TCM.

    2. Disconnect the speed sensor connector from the transmission wire.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1 (NTB) sensor side - 1 (NTB) TCM side Always Below 1 Ω
      2 (NTO) sensor side - 2 (NTO) TCM side Always Below 1 Ω
      1 (NTB) sensor side - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      2 (NTO) sensor side - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher

      *a Component without harness connected
      (Transmission Wire)
      *b TCM Side
      *c Sensor Side

    NG → See step   7 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. REPLACE TRANSMISSION REVOLUTION SENSOR 

    Refer to COMPONENTS [08/2015 - ]

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  4. CHECK IF DTC OUTPUT RECURS (SEE IF DTC P0717, P07BF AND/OR P07C0 OUTPUT AGAIN) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Start the engine and turn the Techstream on.
    3. Clear the DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [08/2015 - ] .

      HINT: 

      Write down the currently output DTCs before clearing them.

    4. Perform the monitor drive pattern. Refer to MONITOR DRIVE PATTERN [08/2015 - ] .
    5. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / ECT / Trouble Codes.
    6. Read the DTCs using the Techstream.

      Result

      Display (DTC Output) Proceed to
      Only "P0717, P07BF or P07C0" is output A
      No output B

    B → END

  5. REPLACE TCM. Refer to  COMPONENTS [08/2015 - ] 
  6. REPAIR OR REPLACE TRANSMISSION REVOLUTION SENSOR. Refer to  COMPONENTS [08/2015 - ] 
  7. REPLACE TRANSMISSION WIRE. Refer to  COMPONENTS [08/2015 - ]
