DTC C1428: Motor Circuit Malfunction [08/2015 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (+BM TERMINAL) 
    1. Make sure that there is no looseness at the locking part and the connecting part of the connector.

    2. Disconnect the skid control ECU connector.
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A49-1 (+BM) - Body ground*1
      A94-1 (+BM) - Body ground*2      		 Always 11 to 14 V

      *1: for 2AR-FE (w/o Dynamic Radar Cruise Control System)

      *2: for 2AR-FE (w/ Dynamic Radar Cruise Control System), 2GR-FE

      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      *A for 2AR-FE (w/o Dynamic Radar Cruise Control System)
      *B for 2AR-FE (w/ Dynamic Radar Cruise Control System), 2GR-FE
      *a Front view of wire harness connector
      (to Skid Control ECU (Brake Actuator Assembly))

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (+BM CIRCUIT) 

    OK: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (GND2 TERMINAL) 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A49-13 (GND2) - Body ground*1
      A94-13 (GND2) - Body ground*2      		 Always Below 1 Ω

      *1: for 2AR-FE (w/o Dynamic Radar Cruise Control System)

      *2: for 2AR-FE (w/ Dynamic Radar Cruise Control System), 2GR-FE

      *A for 2AR-FE (w/o Dynamic Radar Cruise Control System)
      *B for 2AR-FE (w/ Dynamic Radar Cruise Control System), 2GR-FE
      *a Front view of wire harness connector
      (to Skid Control ECU (Brake Actuator Assembly))

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (GND2 CIRCUIT) 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. RECONFIRM DTC 
    1. Reconnect the skid control ECU connector.
    2. Clear the DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [08/2015 - ] .
    3. Turn the ignition switch off.
    4. Start the engine.
    5. Perform a road test.
    6. Check if the same DTC is output. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [08/2015 - ] .

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTC C1428 is not output. A
      DTC C1428 is output. B

  4. CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [08/2015 - ] 
  5. REPLACE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2015 - ]
