DTC C1AED: Rear Sensor Communication Malfunction [08/2015 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (C1AED) 
    1. Check for DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [08/2015 - ] .
    2. Clear the DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [08/2015 - ] .
    3. Recheck for DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [08/2015 - ] .

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTC C1AED is output A
      No DTCs are output B

    B → See step   21 

    A: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CLEARANCE WARNING ECU ASSEMBLY - REAR RIGHT SENSOR) 
    1. Disconnect the I82 connector from the clearance warning ECU assembly.
    2. Disconnect the U4 connector from the No. 1 ultrasonic sensor.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      I82-22 (BOR) - U4-1 (BI) Always Below 1 Ω
      I82-24 (SOR) - U4-3 (SI)
      I82-23 (E1) - U4-5 (EI)
      I82-22 (BOR) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher
      I82-24 (SOR) - Body ground
      I82-23 (E1) - Body ground

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR RIGHT SENSOR - REAR RIGHT CENTER SENSOR) 
    1. Disconnect the U4 and U3 connectors from the No. 1 ultrasonic sensors.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      U4-2 (BO) - U3-1 (BI) Always Below 1 Ω
      U4-4 (SO) - U3-3 (SI)
      U4-6 (EO) - U3-5 (EI)
      U4-2 (BO) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher
      U4-4 (SO) - Body ground
      U4-6 (EO) - Body ground

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR RIGHT CENTER SENSOR - REAR LEFT CENTER SENSOR) 
    1. Disconnect the U3 and U2 connectors from the No. 1 ultrasonic sensors.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      U3-2 (BO) - U2-1 (BI) Always Below 1 Ω
      U3-4 (SO) - U2-3 (SI)
      U3-6 (EO) - U2-5 (EI)
      U3-2 (BO) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher
      U3-4 (SO) - Body ground
      U3-6 (EO) - Body ground

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR LEFT CENTER SENSOR - REAR LEFT SENSOR) 
    1. Disconnect the U2 and U1 connectors from the No. 1 ultrasonic sensors.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      U2-2 (BO) - U1-1 (BI) Always Below 1 Ω
      U2-4 (SO) - U1-3 (SI)
      U2-6 (EO) - U1-5 (EI)
      U2-2 (BO) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher
      U2-4 (SO) - Body ground
      U2-6 (EO) - Body ground

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  6. INSPECT NO. 1 ULTRASONIC SENSOR (REAR RIGHT SENSOR) 
    1. Remove the No. 1 ultrasonic sensor (rear right sensor). Refer to REMOVAL [08/2015 - ] .
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1 (BI) - 5 (EI) Always 10 kΩ or higher
      1 (BI) - 2 (BO)
      3 (SI) - 4 (SO) Below 1 Ω
      5 (EI) - 6 (EO)

      *a Component without harness connected
      (No. 1 Ultrasonic Sensor (Rear Right Sensor))

    NG → See step   18 

    OK: Go to next step 

  7. INSPECT NO. 1 ULTRASONIC SENSOR (REAR RIGHT CENTER SENSOR) 
    1. Remove the No. 1 ultrasonic sensor (rear right center sensor). Refer to REMOVAL [08/2015 - ] .
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1 (BI) - 5 (EI) Always 10 kΩ or higher
      1 (BI) - 2 (BO)
      3 (SI) - 4 (SO) Below 1 Ω
      5 (EI) - 6 (EO)

  8. INSPECT NO. 1 ULTRASONIC SENSOR (REAR LEFT CENTER SENSOR) 
    1. Remove the No. 1 ultrasonic sensor (rear left center sensor). Refer to REMOVAL [08/2015 - ] .
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

  9. REPLACE NO. 1 ULTRASONIC SENSOR (REAR RIGHT SENSOR) See step   2

  10. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (C1AED) 
    1. Clear the DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [08/2015 - ] .
    2. Check for DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [08/2015 - ] .

      No DTCs are output B

    B → END (REAR RIGHT SENSOR WAS DEFECTIVE)

  11. REPLACE NO. 1 ULTRASONIC SENSOR (REAR RIGHT CENTER SENSOR) See step   2 

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  12. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (C1AED) 
    1. Clear the DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [08/2015 - ] .
    2. Check for DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [08/2015 - ] .

      Result

      DTC C1AED is output A
      No DTCs are output B

    B → END (REAR RIGHT CENTER SENSOR WAS DEFECTIVE) 

    A: Go to next step 

  13. REPLACE NO. 1 ULTRASONIC SENSOR (REAR LEFT CENTER SENSOR) See step   2 

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  14. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (C1AED) 
    1. Clear the DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [08/2015 - ] .
    2. Check for DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [08/2015 - ] .

      Result

      DTC C1AED is output A
      No DTCs are output B

    B → END (REAR LEFT CENTER SENSOR WAS DEFECTIVE)

  15. REPLACE NO. 1 ULTRASONIC SENSOR (REAR LEFT SENSOR) See step   2 

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  16. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (C1AED) 
    1. Clear the DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [08/2015 - ] .
    2. Check for DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [08/2015 - ] .

  17. REPLACE CLEARANCE WARNING ECU ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2015 - ] 
  18. REPLACE NO. 1 ULTRASONIC SENSOR (REAR RIGHT SENSOR). Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2015 - ] 
  19. REPLACE NO. 1 ULTRASONIC SENSOR (REAR LEFT CENTER SENSOR). Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2015 - ] 
  20. REPLACE NO. 1 ULTRASONIC SENSOR (REAR RIGHT CENTER SENSOR). Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2015 - ] 
  21. USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [08/2015 - ]
