Clearance Warning Buzzer Circuit [08/2015 - ]: Procedure

  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Intuitive P/A / Active Test.
    5. Check that the buzzer operates by performing the Active Test.
      INTUITIVE P/A

      Tester Display Test Part Control Range Diagnostic Note
      Buzzer No. 1 clearance warning buzzer Operate or Stop Confirm that the vehicle is stopped and the engine switch is on (IG)

      OK

      The No. 1 clearance warning buzzer sounds.

    NG → See step   2 

    OK → See step   6 

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CLEARANCE WARNING ECU ASSEMBLY - NO. 1 CLEARANCE WARNING BUZZER) 
    1. Disconnect the I54 connector from the No. 1 clearance warning buzzer.
    2. Disconnect the I82 connector from the clearance warning ECU assembly.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      I82-14 (BBZ) - I54-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      I82-13 (ER) - I54-2
      I82-14 (BBZ) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher
      I82-13 (ER) - Body ground

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. REPLACE NO. 1 CLEARANCE WARNING BUZZER 
    1. Replace the No. 1 clearance warning buzzer with a new or known good one. Refer to REMOVAL [08/2015 - ] .

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  4. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Intuitive P/A / Active Test.
    5. Check that the buzzer operates by performing the Active Test.
      INTUITIVE P/A

      Tester Display Test Part Control Range Diagnostic Note
      Buzzer No. 1 clearance warning buzzer Operate or Stop Confirm that the vehicle is stopped and the engine switch is on (IG)

      OK

      The No. 1 clearance warning buzzer sounds.

    NG → See step   5 

    OK → END (NO. 1 CLEARANCE WARNING BUZZER WAS DEFECTIVE) 

  5. REPLACE CLEARANCE WARNING ECU ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2015 - ] 
  6. PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [08/2015 - ]
