Mute Signal Circuit between Navigation Receiver Assembly and Stereo Component Amplifier [08/2015 - ]: Procedure

  1. INSPECT STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      I69-1 (MUTE) - Body ground Ignition switch ACC
      Audio system playing
      → Audio system changing modes
      2.0 V or higher
      → Below 1 V
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      *a Component with harness connected
      (Stereo Component Amplifier Assembly)

    NG → See step   2 

    OK → See step   5 

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NAVIGATION RECEIVER ASSEMBLY - STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the I8 navigation receiver assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the I69 stereo component amplifier assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      I8-16 (MUT1) - I69-1 (MUTE) Always Below 1 Ω
      I8-16 (MUT1) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. INSPECT STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the I8 navigation receiver assembly connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      I8-16 (MUT1) - Body ground Ignition switch ACC
      Audio system playing
      2.0 V or higher
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      *a Front view of wire harness connector
      (to Navigation Receiver Assembly)

    NG → See step   4 

    OK → See step   6 

  4. REPLACE STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2015 - ] 
  5. PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [08/2015 - ] 
  6. REPLACE NAVIGATION RECEIVER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2015 - ]
