DTC B1324: Lost Communication with Meter [08/2015 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (RADIO AND DISPLAY RECEIVER ASSEMBLY - COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the I196 radio and display receiver assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the I18 combination meter assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      I196-3 (CNH1) - I18-18 (MSCH) Always Below 1 Ω
      I196-4 (CNL1) - I18-19 (MSCL) Always Below 1 Ω
      I196-3 (CNH1) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      I196-4 (CNL1) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      I196-3 (CNH1) - I196-4 (CNL1) Always 10 kΩ or higher
    4. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      I196-3 (CNH1) - Body ground Always Below 1 V
      I196-4 (CNL1) - Body ground Always Below 1 V

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  2. INSPECT COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the combination meter assembly. Refer to REMOVAL [08/2015 - ] .
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      18 (MSCH) - 19 (MSCL) Always 108 to 132 Ω
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      *a Component without harness connected
      (Combination Meter Assembly)

    NG → See step   7 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. INSPECT RADIO AND DISPLAY RECEIVER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the radio and display receiver assembly. Refer to REMOVAL [08/2015 - ] .
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      3 (CNH1) - 4 (CNL1) Always 108 to 132 Ω
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      *a Component without harness connected
      (Radio and Display Receiver Assembly)

    NG → See step   6 

    OK: Go to next step 

  4. REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Replace the combination meter assembly with a new or known good one. Refer to REMOVAL [08/2015 - ] .
    2. Clear the DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [08/2015 - ] .
    3. Recheck for DTCs and check that no DTCs are output.

      OK

      No DTCs are output.

    NG → See step   6 

    OK: Go to next step 

  5. CHECK METER / GAUGE SYSTEM 
    1. Turn the ignition switch to ON and wait 30 seconds.
    2. Operate the steering pad switch assembly and check that the audio tab is displayed on the multi-information display in the combination meter assembly and the audio system can be operated normally.

      OK

      Audio system returns to normal.

    NG → See step   6 

    OK → END 

  6. REPLACE RADIO AND DISPLAY RECEIVER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2015 - ] 
  7. REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2015 - ]
