Navigation ECU Communication Stop Mode [08/2015 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK FOR OPEN IN CAN BUS LINES (NAVIGATION RECEIVER ASSEMBLY BRANCH LINE) 
    1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
    2. Disconnect the I8 navigation receiver assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      I8-9 (CANH) - I8-10 (CANL) Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 54 to 69 Ω
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      *a Front view of wire harness connector
      (to Navigation Receiver Assembly)

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE CAN BRANCH LINE OR CONNECTOR (NAVIGATION RECEIVER ASSEMBLY) 

    OK: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER SOURCE CIRCUIT) 
    1. Disconnect the I6 navigation receiver assembly connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      I6-7 (GND1) - Body ground Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal Below 1 Ω
    3. Reconnect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.
    4. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      I6-3 (ACC1) - Body ground Ignition switch ACC 11 to 14 V
      I6-4 (+B1) - Body ground Ignition switch off 11 to 14 V
      I8-1 (IG) - Body ground Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V

      (to Navigation Receiver Assembly)

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (POWER SOURCE CIRCUIT) 

    OK → See step   3 

  3. REPLACE NAVIGATION RECEIVER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2015 - ]
