Center Airbag Sensor Communication Stop Mode [08/2015 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK FOR OPEN IN CAN BUS LINES (AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY BRANCH LINE) 
    1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
    2. Disconnect the airbag sensor assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      I47-13 (CANH) - I47-22 (CANL) Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 54 to 69 Ω
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      *a Front view of wire harness connector
      (to Airbag Sensor Assembly)

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE CAN BRANCH LINE OR CONNECTOR (AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY) 

    OK: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER SOURCE CIRCUIT) 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      I47-25 (E1) - Body ground Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal Below 1 Ω
      I47-26 (E2) - Body ground Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal Below 1 Ω
    2. Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      I47-21 (IG2) - Body ground Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      *a Front view of wire harness connector
      (to Airbag Sensor Assembly)

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (POWER SOURCE CIRCUIT) 

    OK → See step   3 

  3. REPLACE AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2015 - ]
