Rear Sunshade does not Operate with Rear Sunshade Switch [10/2014 - ]: Procedure

1. Remove the curtain switch assembly (Refer to REMOVAL [10/2014 - ] ).

2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard Resistance

   Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
   1 - 4	Curtain switch assembly pressed and held	Below 1 Ω
   1 - 4	Curtain switch assembly not pushed	10 kΩ or higher

Result: 

NG 

REPLACE CURTAIN SWITCH ASSEMBLY 

Refer to REMOVAL [10/2014 - ] )

Result: 

OK

1. Disconnect the J19 rear sunshade relay connector.
2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard Resistance

   Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
   J19-3 (SW) - D35-4 (ECU)	Always	Below 1 Ω
   J19-3 (SW) - Body ground	Always	10 kΩ or higher
   D35-1 (E2) - Body ground	Always	Below 1 Ω

Result: 

NG 

REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

Result: 

OK

1. Measure the voltage and resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard Voltage

   Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
   J19-1 (IG) - Body ground	Engine switch off	Below 1 V
   J19-1 (IG) - Body ground	Engine switch on (IG)	11 to 14 V

   Standard Resistance

   Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
   J19-5 (E) - Body ground	Always	Below 1 Ω

Result: 

NG 

REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

Result: 

OK

1. Remove the rear window shade assembly (Refer to REMOVAL [10/2014 - ] ).

2. Remove the rear sunshade relay from the rear window shade assembly.
3. Apply battery voltage and check the operation of the rear sunshade assembly.

   OK

   Connection	Result
   Battery positive (+) → Terminal 1 Battery negative (-) → Terminal 2	Rear sunshade raises
   Battery positive (+) → Terminal 2 Battery negative (-) → Terminal 1	Rear sunshade lowers
