Malfunction in Water Temperature Warning Light [03/2017 - ]: Procedure

1. Check if meter / gauge system DTCs are output (Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [06/2016 - ] ).

   OK

   DTCs are not output.

Result: 

NG 

GO TO DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART. Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [06/2016 - ] 

Result: 

OK 

See step  2

1. Check if SFI system DTCs are output (Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [06/2016 - ] ).

   OK

   DTCs are not output.

Result: 

NG 

GO TO SFI SYSTEM. Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [03/2017 - 07/2018]  Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [07/2018 - ] 

Result: 

OK 

See step  3

1. Disconnect the C40 engine coolant temperature sensor connector.

   *1	Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor
   *2	ECM

2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
3. Check the operating condition of the water temperature warning light.

   Result

   Result	Proceed to
   Water temperature warning light (blue) is on.	A
   Water temperature warning light (blue) is not on.	B

Result: 

B 

REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [03/2017 - ]

1. Disconnect the C40 engine coolant temperature sensor connector.
2. Connect terminals 1 and 2 of the C40 engine coolant temperature sensor connector on the wire harness side.

3. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

REPLACE ECM. Refer to  REMOVAL [06/2016 - ]

NG 

REPLACE ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR. Refer to  REMOVAL [06/2016 - ]
