VSC OFF Switch Circuit [08/2019 - ]: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (TRAC/VSC OFF MODE) 
    1. Turn the ignition switch off.
    2. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    3. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    4. Turn the Techstream on.
    5. Enter the following menus: Chassis / Brake / Data List.
    6. According to the display on the Techstream, read the Data List.

    7. Check the indicator light and mode condition on the Techstream changes according to VSC OFF switch operation.

      Standard:

    Result:

    INSPECT METER / GAUGE SYSTEM. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [08/2015 - ] 

    Result:

    USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [08/2019 - ]

  2. INSPECT VSC OFF SWITCH 
    1. Turn the ignition switch off.
    2. Remove the VSC OFF switch.

      Refer to REMOVAL [08/2015 - ]

    3. Inspect the VSC OFF switch.

      Refer to INSPECTION [08/2015 - ]

      OK

      The VSC OFF switch operates normally.

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE VSC OFF SWITCH. Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2015 - ] 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (VSC OFF SWITCH - BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the A58 skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A58-33 (CSW) - U6-6 Always Below 1 Ω
      A58-33 (CSW) or U6-6 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      U6-3 - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2019 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
