DTC B1508: Short in Turn Signal / Hazard Flasher Circuit [08/2019 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK LIGHTS 
    1. Inspect the illumination of each turn signal light.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      All LH turn signal lights do not blink A
      All RH turn signal lights do not blink B

  2. CHECK LH SIDE LIGHTS (REAR COMBINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY LH) 
    1. Disconnect the O12 rear combination light assembly LH connector.
    2. Operate the headlight dimmer switch assembly and check that the LH side turn signal lights other than the rear turn signal light blink.

      HINT: 

      If the LH side turn signal lights blink, the rear combination light assembly LH is malfunctioning.

      LH side turn signal lights do not blink B

    Result:

    REPLACE REAR COMBINATION LIGHT SOCKET AND WIRE SUB-ASSEMBLY LH. Refer to  DISASSEMBLY [08/2015 - ]

  3. CONFIRM MODEL 
    1. Choose the model to be inspected.

  4. CHECK LH SIDE LIGHTS (OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY LH) 
    1. Connect the O12 rear combination light assembly LH connector.
    2. Disconnect the I4 outer rear view mirror assembly LH connector.
    3. Operate the headlight dimmer switch assembly and check that the LH side turn signal lights other than the side turn signal light blink.

      HINT: 

      If the LH side turn signal lights blink, the outer rear view mirror assembly LH is malfunctioning.

  5. INSPECT SIDE TURN SIGNAL LIGHT ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Remove the side turn signal light assembly LH.

      Refer to REMOVAL [08/2015 - ]

    2. Inspect the side turn signal light assembly LH.

      Refer to INSPECTION [08/2015 - ]

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY LH. Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2015 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE SIDE TURN SIGNAL LIGHT ASSEMBLY LH. Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2015 - ] 

  6. CHECK LH SIDE LIGHTS (HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY LH) 
    1. Connect the I4 outer rear view mirror assembly LH connector.*1
    2. Connect the O12 rear combination light assembly LH connector.
    3. Disconnect the A49 headlight assembly LH connector.
    4. Operate the headlight dimmer switch assembly and check that the LH side turn signal lights other than the headlight turn signal light blink.

      HINT: 

      If the LH side turn signal lights blink, the headlight assembly LH is malfunctioning.

      1. *1: w/ Side Turn Signal Light

      Result

      LH side turn signal lights do not blink B

    Result:

    REPLACE FRONT TURN SIGNAL LIGHT SOCKET. Refer to  DISASSEMBLY [08/2015 - 08/2020]  , or refer to  DISASSEMBLY [08/2020 - ]

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (EACH CONNECTED PART - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the O12 rear combination light assembly LH connector.
    2. Disconnect the I4 outer rear view mirror assembly LH connector.*1
    3. Disconnect the F109 combination meter assembly connector.
    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F109-8 (LL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      1. *1: w/ Side Turn Signal Light

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2015 - 08/2022]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [08/2022 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG

  8. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY - JUNCTION CONNECTOR AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the F137 junction connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F109-8 (LL) - F137-12 Always Below 1 Ω
      F109-8 (LL) or F137-12 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  9. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (EACH CONNECTED PART - JUNCTION CONNECTOR AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the F136 junction connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A49-1 (B) - F136-7 Always Below 1 Ω
      A49-1 (B) or F136-7 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      O12-1 (TRN) - F137-11 Always Below 1 Ω
      O12-1 (TRN) or F137-11 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      I4-10 (B) - F136-8*1 Always Below 1 Ω
      I4-10 (B) or F136-8 - Body ground*1 Always 10 kΩ or higher
      1. *1: w/ Side turn Signal Light

      Result

    REPLACE JUNCTION CONNECTOR

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  10. CHECK RH SIDE LIGHTS (REAR COMBINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY RH) 
    1. Disconnect the O13 rear combination light assembly RH connector.
    2. Operate the headlight dimmer switch assembly and check that the RH side turn signal lights other than the rear turn signal light blink.

      HINT: 

      If the RH side turn signal lights blink, the rear combination light assembly RH is malfunctioning.

      Result

      RH side turn signal lights do not blink B

    Result:

    REPLACE REAR COMBINATION LIGHT SOCKET AND WIRE SUB-ASSEMBLY RH. Refer to  DISASSEMBLY [08/2015 - ]

    1. Connect the O13 rear combination assembly RH connector.
    2. Disconnect the H4 outer rear view mirror assembly RH connector.
    3. Operate the headlight dimmer switch assembly and check that the RH side turn signal lights other than the side turn signal light blink.

      HINT: 

      If the RH side turn signal lights blink, the outer rear view mirror assembly RH is malfunctioning.

  13. INSPECT SIDE TURN SIGNAL LIGHT ASSEMBLY RH 
    1. Remove the side turn signal light assembly RH.

      Refer to REMOVAL [08/2015 - ]

    2. Inspect the side turn signal light assembly RH.

      Refer to INSPECTION [08/2015 - ]

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY RH. Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2015 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE SIDE TURN SIGNAL LIGHT ASSEMBLY RH. Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2015 - ] 

  14. CHECK RH SIDE LIGHTS (HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY RH) 
    1. Connect the H4 outer rear view mirror assembly RH connector.*1
    2. Connect the O13 rear combination light assembly RH connector.
    3. Disconnect the A51 headlight assembly RH connector.
    4. Operate the headlight dimmer switch assembly and check that the RH side turn signal lights other than the headlight turn signal light blink.

      HINT: 

      If the RH side turn signal lights blink, the headlight assembly RH is malfunctioning.

      1. *1: w/ Side Turn Signal Light

      Result

      RH side turn signal lights do not blink B

    REPLACE FRONT TURN SIGNAL LIGHT SOCKET. Refer to  DISASSEMBLY [08/2015 - 08/2020]  , or refer to  DISASSEMBLY [08/2020 - ]

  15. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (EACH CONNECTED PART - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the O13 rear combination light assembly RH connector.
    2. Disconnect the H4 outer rear view mirror assembly RH connector.*1
    3. Disconnect the F109 combination meter assembly connector.
    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F109-13 (LR) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      1. *1: w/ Side Turn Signal Light

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2015 - 08/2022]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [08/2022 - ]

  16. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY - JUNCTION CONNECTOR AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the F137 junction connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F109-13 (LR) - F137-7 Always Below 1 Ω
      F109-13 (LR) or F137-7 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to

      NG

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  17. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (EACH CONNECTED PART - JUNCTION CONNECTOR AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the F136 junction connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A51-1 (B) - F136-11 Always Below 1 Ω
      A51-1 (B) or F136-11 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      O13-1 (TRN) - F137-8 Always Below 1 Ω
      O13-1 (TRN) or F137-8 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      H4-10 (B) - F136-12*1 Always Below 1 Ω
      H4-10 (B) or F136-12 - Body ground*1 Always 10 kΩ or higher
      1. *1: w/ Side turn Signal Light
