Reassembly [12/2012 - ]: Procedure

  1. TEMPORARILY INSTALL REAR DISC BRAKE BLEEDER PLUG 
    1. Temporarily install the rear disc brake bleeder plug to the rear disc brake cylinder assembly.

      HINT: 

      The rear disc brake bleeder plug will be tightened to the torque specification in the "Bleed Brake Line" procedures.

  2. INSTALL REAR DISC BRAKE BLEEDER PLUG CAP 
  3. INSTALL PISTON SEAL 
    1. Apply a light coat of lithium soap base glycol grease to the entire inner and outer circumference of a new piston seal.

      *1 Lithium soap base glycol grease
    2. Install the piston seal to the rear disc brake cylinder assembly.
      NOTE:

      Make sure the piston seal is securely installed to the groove of the rear disc brake cylinder assembly.

  4. INSTALL REAR DISC BRAKE PISTON 
    1. Apply a light coat of lithium soap base glycol grease to the entire inner and outer circumference of a new cylinder boot.

      *1 Lithium soap base glycol grease
    2. Apply a light coat of lithium soap base glycol grease to the entire outer circumference of the rear disc brake piston where it contacts the rear disc brake cylinder assembly.
    3. Install the cylinder boot to the rear disc brake piston.
      NOTE:

      Do not forcibly install the brake piston to the rear disc brake cylinder assembly.

    4. Install the rear disc brake piston to the rear disc brake cylinder assembly.
  5. INSTALL CYLINDER BOOT 
    1. Install the cylinder boot to the rear disc brake cylinder assembly.

      *1 Set Ring
      *2 Cylinder
      *3 Cylinder Boot
      NOTE:
      • Install the boot securely to the grooves of the rear disc brake cylinder assembly and brake piston.
      • Be careful not to damage the cylinder boot.
    2. Using a screwdriver, install a new set ring.

      HINT: 

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

      NOTE:

      Be careful not to damage the boot.
