Removal [12/2012 - ]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR AND LINK ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7

  2. REMOVE HOOD TO FRONT FENDER SEAL RH 
    1. Remove the clip.

    2. Detach the 3 clips and remove the hood to front fender seal RH.
  3. REMOVE HOOD TO FRONT FENDER SEAL LH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure described for the RH side.

  4. REMOVE COWL TOP PANEL OUTER SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5 [12/2012 - 08/2016] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5 [08/2016 - ]

  5. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 11 [12/2012 - 08/2016] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 11 [08/2016 - ]

  6. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 13 [12/2012 - 08/2016] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 13 [08/2016 - ]

  7. REMOVE FUSE BOX OPENING COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8 [12/2012 - 08/2016] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8 [08/2016 - ]

  8. REMOVE HOOD LOCK CONTROL LEVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Detach the 3 claws.

    2. Disconnect the hood lock control cable assembly and remove the hood lock control lever sub-assembly.

  9. REMOVE HOOD LOCK ASSEMBLY

      Remove the 3 bolts.

    2. Disconnect the hood lock control cable assembly and remove the hood lock assembly.

  10. REMOVE HOOD LOCK CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Tie a string to the end of the hood lock control cable assembly as shown in the illustration.

      *1 String

      HINT: 

      Use a length of string long enough to pass through the engine compartment.

    2. Detach each clamp, and then pull out the hood lock control cable assembly from the vehicle body.
    3. Untie the string from the hood lock control cable assembly.
