DTC P2759: Torque Converter Clutch Pressure Control Solenoid Control Circuit Electrical (Shift Solenoid Valve SLU) [12/2012 - 08/2014]: Procedure

  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE SLU CIRCUIT) 
    1. Disconnect the ECM connector.

      *a Front view of wire harness connector
      (to ECM)
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      B77-7 (SLU+) - B77-6 (SLU-) 20°C (68°F) 5.0 to 5.6 Ω
      B77-7 (SLU+) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      B77-6 (SLU-) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE ECM:  REMOVAL [12/2012 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (WIRING HARNESS CONNECTOR - ECM) 
    1. Disconnect the B78 wiring harness connector.
    2. Disconnect the B77 ECM connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      B78-14 (SLU+) - B77-7 (SLU+) Always Below 1 Ω
      B78-5 (SLU-) - B77-6 (SLU-) Always Below 1 Ω
      B78-14 (SLU+) or B77-7 (SLU+) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      B78-5 (SLU-) or B77-6 (SLU-) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. INSPECT TRANSMISSION WIRE (SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE SLU) 
    1. Remove the wiring harness connector.

      *a Component without harness connected
      (Transmission Wire)
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A-11 (SLU+) - A-5 (SLU-) 20°C (68°F) 5.0 to 5.6 Ω
      A-11 (SLU+) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      A-5 (SLU-) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE WIRING HARNESS CONNECTOR:  REMOVAL [12/2012 - 08/2017] 

    Result: 

    NG

  4. INSPECT SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE SLU 
    1. Remove shift solenoid valve SLU.

      *1 Shift Solenoid Valve SLU
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1 - 2 20°C (68°F) 5.0 to 5.6 Ω
    3. Apply 12 V battery voltage to the shift solenoid valve and check that the valve moves and makes an operating noise.

      OK

      Measurement Condition Specified Condition
      • Battery positive (+) with a 21 W bulb → Terminal 1
      • Battery negative (-) → Terminal 2
      Valve moves and makes an operating noise

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE TRANSMISSION WIRE:  REMOVAL [12/2012 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE SLU:  DISASSEMBLY [12/2012 - ]
