Removal [12/2012 - 08/2016]: Procedure
- REMOVE REAR WHEEL
- REMOVE REAR AXLE SHAFT NUT LH (for AWD)
- Using SST and a hammer, unstake the staked part of the rear axle shaft nut.
- SST: 09930-00010
- 09931-00010
- 09931-00020
NOTE:Loosen the staked part of the rear axle shaft nut completely, otherwise the screw of the drive shaft may be damaged.
- SST: 09930-00010
- While applying the brakes, remove the rear axle shaft nut.
- Using SST and a hammer, unstake the staked part of the rear axle shaft nut.
- DISCONNECT REAR DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY LH
- REMOVE REAR DISC
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 14
- DISCONNECT SKID CONTROL SENSOR WIRE (for 2WD)
- Disconnect the connector.
- DISCONNECT REAR SPEED SENSOR LH (for AWD)
- Remove the bolt and disconnect the rear speed sensor from the rear axle carrier.NOTE:
- Prevent foreign matter from attaching to the sensor tip.
- Be careful not to damage the rear speed sensor.
- Clean the installation hole and the surface for the speed sensor every time the speed sensor is removed.
- Remove the bolt and disconnect the rear speed sensor from the rear axle carrier.
- REMOVE REAR AXLE HUB AND BEARING ASSEMBLY LH (for 2WD)
- REMOVE REAR AXLE HUB AND BEARING ASSEMBLY LH (for AWD)
- Remove the 4 bolts from the rear axle carrier.
- Using a plastic-faced hammer, remove the rear axle hub and bearing assembly LH.
