DTC B1507: Open in Turn Signal Circuit; DTC B1508: Short in Turn Signal / Hazard Flasher Circuit [08/2015 - ]: Procedure

  1. INSPECT LIGHTS 
    1. Inspect the illumination of each turn signal light.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      Turn signal lights for one side do not illuminate. A
      Front turn signal light does not illuminate. B
      Rear turn signal light does not illuminate. C
      Side turn signal light does not illuminate*. D
      • *: w/ Side turn signal light

    B → Refer to   3 

    C → Refer to   4 

    D → Refer to   5 

    A: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER SUB-ASSEMBLY - INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the L125 combination meter sub-assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the 2A instrument panel junction block assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance (Check for Open)

      FOR LH

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      L125-3 (LL) - 2A-22 Always Below 1 Ω
      FOR RH

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      L125-5 (LR) - 2A-17 Always Below 1 Ω

      Standard Resistance (Check for Short)

      FOR LH

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      L125-3 (LL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      FOR RH

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      L125-5 (LR) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    A → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY - INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY) 
    1. for Halogen headlight type
      1. Disconnect the A71*1 or A77*2 front turn signal light connector.
        • *1: for LH
        • *2: for RH
      2. Disconnect the 2C instrument panel junction block assembly connector.
      3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance (Check for Open)

        FOR LH

        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        A71-3 (B) - 2C-17 Always Below 1 Ω
        A71-2 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
        FOR RH

        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        A77-3 (B) - 2C-36 Always Below 1 Ω
        A77-2 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

        Standard Resistance (Check for Short)

        FOR LH

        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        A71-3 (B) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
        FOR RH

        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        A77-3 (B) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    2. for LED headlight type
      1. Disconnect the A80*1 or A82*2 front turn signal light connector.
        • *1: for LH
        • *2: for RH
      2. Disconnect the 2C instrument panel junction block assembly connector.
      3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance (Check for Open)

        FOR LH

        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        A80-5 (B) - 2C-17 Always Below 1 Ω
        A80-6 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
        FOR RH

        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        A82-5 (B) - 2C-36 Always Below 1 Ω
        A82-6 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

        Standard Resistance (Check for Short)

        FOR LH

        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        A80-5 (B) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
        FOR RH

        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        A82-5 (B) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    A → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR COMBINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY - INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the R17*1 or S18*2 rear turn signal light connector.
      • *1: for LH
      • *2: for RH
    2. Disconnect the 2D instrument panel junction block assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance (Check for Open)

      FOR LH

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      R17-6 (B) - 2D-17 Always Below 1 Ω
      R17-5 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      FOR RH

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      S18-6 (B) - 2D-4 Always Below 1 Ω
      S18-5 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Standard Resistance (Check for Short)

      FOR LH

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      R17-6 (B) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      FOR RH

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      S18-6 (B) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    A → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY - INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the O13*1 or N12*2 outer rear view mirror assembly connector.
      • *1: for LH
      • *2: for RH
    2. Disconnect the 2B instrument panel junction block assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance (Check for Open)

      FOR LH

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      O13-2 (B) - 2B-35 Always Below 1 Ω
      O13-9 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      FOR RH

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      N12-2 (B) - 2B-37 Always Below 1 Ω
      N12-9 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Standard Resistance (Check for Short)

      FOR LH

      O13-2 (B) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      FOR RH

  6. INSPECT INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) from the instrument panel junction block assembly. Refer to REMOVAL [08/2015 - ] .

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      2A-22 - 2C-17 Always Below 1 Ω
      2A-22 - 2D-17 Always Below 1 Ω
      2A-22 - 2B-35 Always Below 1 Ω
      2A-17 - 2C-36 Always Below 1 Ω
      2A-17 - 2D-4 Always Below 1 Ω
      2A-17 - 2B-37 Always Below 1 Ω

  9. REPLACE COMBINATION METER SUB-ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2015 - ]
