DTC P0A09-265: DC / DC Converter Status Circuit Low Input [08/2015 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION (POWER MANAGEMENT CONTROL ECU CONNECTOR) Refer to   3 

    NG → CONNECT SECURELY 

    OK: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION (INVERTER WITH CONVERTER ASSEMBLY CONNECTOR) Refer to   4 

    NG → CONNECT SECURELY 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK POWER MANAGEMENT CONTROL ECU (NODD) 
    1. Turn the power switch on (READY).
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      A21-21 (NODD) - L5-6 (E1) Power switch on (READY) 5 to 7 V
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      *a Component with harness connected
      (Power Management Control ECU)
    3. Turn the power switch off.

    NG → Refer to   7 

    OK: Go to next step 

  4. CLEAR DTC 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.
    4. Clear DTCs and freeze frame data.
    5. Turn the power switch off.

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  5. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HYBRID CONTROL) 
    1. Turn the power switch on (READY).
    2. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.
    3. Check if DTCs are output.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTC P0A09-265 is not output. A
      DTC P0A09-265 is output again. B
    4. Turn the power switch off.

    B → Refer to   10 

    A: Go to next step 

  6. CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS 

    Refer to CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS [08/2015 - ]

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE MALFUNCTIONING PARTS, COMPONENT AND AREA 

    OK → Refer to   10 

  7. CHECK POWER MANAGEMENT CONTROL ECU Refer to   10 

    NG → Refer to   8 

    OK → Refer to   9 

  8. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (INVERTER WITH CONVERTER - POWER MANAGEMENT CONTROL ECU) 
    WARNING:

    Be sure to wear insulated gloves.

    1. Check that the service plug grip is not installed.
      NOTE:

      After removing the service plug grip, do not turn the power switch on (READY), unless instructed by the repair service information because this may cause a malfunction.

    2. Disconnect connector A59 from the inverter with converter assembly.
    3. Disconnect connector A21 from the power management control ECU.
    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      A59-12 (NODD) - A21-21 (NODD) Power switch off Below 1 Ω
      A59-12 (NODD) or A21-21 (NODD) - Body ground and other terminals Power switch off 10 kΩ or higher

      *a Front view of wire harness connector
      (to Inverter with Converter Assembly)
      *b Rear view of wire harness connector
      (to Power Management Control ECU)
    5. Connect the inverter with converter assembly connector.
    6. Connect the power management control ECU connector.

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → Refer to   10 

  9. REFER TO REPLACE INVERTER WITH CONVERTER ASSEMBLY PARTS. Refer to  DTC CHECK / CLEAR [08/2015 - ] 
  10. REPLACE POWER MANAGEMENT CONTROL ECU. Refer to  COMPONENTS [08/2015 - ]
