VSC OFF Switch Circuit [04/2018 - 08/2021]: Procedure

  1. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM 
    1. Check if CAN communication system DTCs are output.

      Refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [04/2018 -]

    Result: 

    INSPECT CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [04/2018 -]

  2. CHECK IF BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY CONNECTOR IS SECURELY CONNECTED 
    1. Check if the skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) connector is securely connected.

      OK

      The connector is securely connected.

      Result

      Proceed to

      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    CONNECT CONNECTOR TO BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY CORRECTLY

  3. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (TRAC/VSC OFF MODE) 
    1. Enter the following menus: Chassis / ABS/VSC/TRAC/EPB / Data List.

      Chassis > ABS/VSC/TRAC/EPB > Data List

    2. Check the indicator light and mode condition on the Techstream changes according to VSC OFF switch operation.

  4. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (MULTI-INFORMATION DISPLAY (TRACTION CONTROL TURNED OFF) AND VSC OFF INDICATOR LIGHT) 
    1. Enter the following menus: Chassis / ABS/VSC/TRAC/EPB / Active Test.

      Chassis > ABS/VSC/TRAC/EPB > Active Test

    2. Check that "Traction Control Turned Off" on the multi-information display and the VSC OFF indicator light on the combination meter assembly turn on or off in accordance with the operation of the Techstream.

      OK

      "Traction Control Turned Off" on the multi-information display and the VSC OFF indicator light turn on or off in accordance with the operation of the Techstream.

  5. INSPECT VSC OFF SWITCH 
    1. Turn the engine switch off.
    2. Make sure that there is no looseness at the locking part and the connecting part of the connector.

      (VSC OFF switch)

      OK

      The connector is securely connected.

    3. Disconnect the G26 VSC OFF switch connector.
    4. Check both the connector case and the terminal for deformation and corrosion.

      OK

      No deformation or corrosion.

    5. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      5 (+) - 2 (E) Switch pushed Below 1 Ω
      5 (+) - 2 (E) Switch not pushed 10 kΩ or higher

    Result:

    REPLACE VSC OFF SWITCH. Refer to  REMOVAL [04/2018 -]

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY - VSC OFF SWITCH) 
    1. Make sure that there is no looseness at the locking part and the connecting part of the connector.

      OK

      The connector is securely connected.

    2. Disconnect the A28 skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) connector.
    3. Check both the connector case and the terminals for deformation and corrosion.

      OK

      No deformation or corrosion.

    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A28-6 (CSW) - G26-5 (+) Always Below 1 Ω
      A28-6 (CSW) or G26-5 (+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      G26-2 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

    Result:

    REPLACE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [04/2018 - 08/2020]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [08/2020 - 08/2021]

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  7. INSPECT COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Active Test.
    2. Perform the Active Test of the combination meter assembly using the Techstream.

      Body Electrical > Combination Meter > Active Test 

      Tester Display
      Multi Display All (White)

      Body Electrical > Combination Meter > Active Test 

      Tester Display
      VSC OFF Indicator
    3. Check the combination meter assembly.

      OK

      The multi-information display and VSC OFF indicator light turn on or off in accordance with Techstream operation.

    Result:

    REPLACE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [04/2018 - 08/2020]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [08/2020 - 08/2021]
