Typical Enabling Conditions

Monitor runs whenever the following DTCs are not stored None
Key-off monitor runs when all of the following conditions are met: -
Atmospheric pressure 70 kPa(abs) [525 mmHg(abs)] or higher, and less than 111 kPa(abs) [833 mmHg(abs)]
Auxiliary battery voltage 10.5 V or higher
Vehicle speed Less than 4 km/h (2.5 mph)
Power switch Off
Engine condition Not running
Key-OFF duration 5, 7 or 9.5 hours
Pressure sensor of canister pump module malfunction (P0452 and P0453) Not detected
Fuel tank pressure sensor malfunction (P1452 and P1453) Not detected
Purge VSV Not operated by scan tool
Vent valve Not operated by scan tool
Fuel vapor-containment valve Not operated by scan tool
Leak detection pump Not operated by scan tool
Both of the following conditions (a) and (b) are met before Key-OFF -
(a). Duration that vehicle is being driven 5 minutes or more
(b). Purge flow Performed
Engine coolant temperature 4.4°C (40°F) or higher, and less than 35°C (95°F)
Intake air temperature 4.4°C (40°F) or higher, and less than 35°C (95°F)

Key-off Monitor Sequence 1 to 15 

1. ATMOSPHERIC PRESSURE MEASUREMENT

Next sequence is run if the following condition is met: -
Atmospheric pressure change Less than 0.3 kPa(gauge) [2.25 mmHg(gauge)] per second
2. FIRST REFERENCE PRESSURE MEASUREMENT

Next sequence is run if all of the following conditions are met: Conditions 1, 2 and 3
1. Canister pressure when reference pressure measurement started -0.85 kPa(gauge) [-6.376 mmHg(gauge)] or less
2. Reference pressure -4.75 kPa(gauge) [-35.63 mmHg(gauge)] or higher, and less than -0.957 kPa(gauge) [-7.178 mmHg(gauge)]
3. Reference pressure Saturated
3. VENT VALVE STUCK CLOSED CHECK

Next sequence is run if the following condition is met: -
Canister pressure change after vent valve ON (closed) 0.3 kPa(gauge) [2.25 mmHg(gauge)] or higher
4. VACUUM INTRODUCTION FOR CANISTER

Next sequence is run if the both of the following condition is met: -
Vacuum introduction time 15 minutes or less
Canister pressure Saturated
5. PURGE VSV STUCK CLOSED CHECK

Next sequence is run if the following condition is met: -
Canister pressure change for 10 seconds after purge VSV ON (open) 0.3 kPa(gauge) [2.25 mmHg(gauge)] or higher
6. SECOND REFERENCE PRESSURE MEASUREMENT

Next sequence is run if all of the following conditions are met: Conditions 1, 2, 3 and 4
1. Canister pressure when reference pressure measurement started -0.85 kPa(gauge) [-6.376 mmHg(gauge)] or less
2. Reference pressure -4.75 kPa(gauge) [-35.63 mmHg(gauge)] or higher, and less than -0.957 kPa(gauge) [-7.178 mmHg(gauge)]
3. Reference pressure Saturated
4. Reference pressure difference between the first and second Less than 0.9 kPa(gauge) [6.75 mmHg(gauge)]
7. CANISTER LEAK CHECK

One of sequence 8 or 9 is run if following condition is met: -
Canister pressure when vacuum introduction for canister was complete Second reference pressure or less
8. FUEL VAPOR-CONTAINMENT VALVE (FVCV) STUCK CLOSED CHECK

Sequence 14 is run if both of the following conditions are met: Conditions 1 and 2
1. Fuel tank pressure when EVAP monitor started -2 kPa(gauge) [-15 mmHg(gauge)] or less, or 3 kPa(gauge) [22.5 mmHg(gauge)] or higher
2. Fuel tank pressure change while fuel vapor-containment valve and vent valve are open 0.5 kPa(gauge) [3.75 mmHg(gauge)] or higher
9. VACUUM INTRODUCTION FOR FUEL TANK

Next sequence is run if both of the following conditions are met: Conditions 1 and 2
1. Fuel tank pressure when EVAP monitor started Higher than -2 kPa(gauge) [-15 mmHg(gauge)], and less than 3 kPa(gauge) [22.5 mmHg(gauge)]
2. Vacuum introduction time 15 minutes or less
10. FUEL VAPOR-CONTAINMENT VALVE STUCK CLOSED CHECK

Next sequence is run if the following condition is met: -
Fuel tank pressure change when vacuum introduction for fuel tank 0.5 kPa(gauge) [3.75 mmHg(gauge)] or higher
11. FUEL TANK PRESSURE SENSOR STUCK CHECK

Next sequence is run if the following condition is met: -
Fuel tank pressure change when fuel vapor-containment valve closed 0.35 kPa(gauge) [2.62 mmHg(gauge)] or higher
12 THIRD REFERENCE PRESSURE MEASUREMENT

Next sequence is run if all of the following conditions are met: Conditions 1, 2, 3 and 4
1. Fuel tank pressure when 1.9 seconds after reference pressure measurement -0.85 kPa(gauge) [-6.376 mmHg(gauge)] or less
2. Reference pressure -4.75 kPa(gauge) [-35.63 mmHg(gauge)] or higher, and less than -0.957 kPa(gauge) [-7.178 mmHg(gauge)]
3. Reference pressure Saturated
4. Reference pressure difference between the second and third Less than 0.9 kPa(gauge) [6.75 mmHg(gauge)]
13. FUEL TANK LEAK CHECK

Sequence 15 is run if the following condition is met: -
Fuel tank pressure when vacuum introduction for fuel tank was complete Less than third reference pressure
14. FUEL TANK PRESSURE SENSOR STUCK CHECK

Next sequence is run if the following condition is met: -
Fuel tank pressure change while fuel vapor-containment valve and vent valve are open Less than 0.35 kPa(gauge) [2.62 mmHg(gauge)]
15. ATMOSPHERIC PRESSURE MEASUREMENT

Monitor is complete if the following condition is met: -
Atmospheric pressure difference between sequence 1 and 15 Less than 0.3 kPa(gauge) [2.25 mmHg(gauge)]
