DTC B1451: Compressor Solenoid Circuit [12/2013 - 11/2016]: Procedure

  1. CONFIRM MODEL 
    1. Choose the model to be inspected.

      Result

  2. INSPECT COOLER COMPRESSOR ASSEMBLY (COMPRESSOR SOLENOID) 
    1. Disconnect the C16 cooler compressor assembly (compressor solenoid) connector.

      *a Component without harness connected
      (Cooler Compressor Assembly (Compressor Solenoid))
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      C16-1 (SOL-) - C16-2 (SOL+) 25°C (77°F) 10.1 to 11.1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:  2

    NG 

    REPLACE COOLER COMPRESSOR ASSEMBLY (COMPRESSOR SOLENOID). Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2013 - 11/2016] 

    Result:  1

    OK

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COOLER COMPRESSOR ASSEMBLY (COMPRESSOR SOLENOID) - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      C16-1 (SOL-) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:  2

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result:  1

    OK

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COOLER COMPRESSOR ASSEMBLY (COMPRESSOR SOLENOID) - AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the F80 air conditioning amplifier assembly connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      C16-2 (SOL+) - F80-2 (SOL+) Always Below 1 Ω
      C16-2 (SOL+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      NG A
      OK (When troubleshooting according to Problem Symptoms Table) B
      OK (When troubleshooting according to the DTC) C

    Result:  1

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result:  2

    PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [12/2013 - 11/2016] 

    Result:  3

    REPLACE AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2013 - ] 

  5. INSPECT COMPRESSOR ASSEMBLY WITH PULLEY (COMPRESSOR SOLENOID) 
    1. Disconnect the C16 compressor assembly with pulley (compressor solenoid) connector.

      *a Component without harness connected
      (Compressor Assembly with Pulley (Compressor Solenoid))
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      C16-1 (SOL-) - C16-2 (SOL+) 25°C (77°F) 10.1 to 11.1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:  2

    NG 

    REPLACE COMPRESSOR ASSEMBLY WITH PULLEY (COMPRESSOR SOLENOID). Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2013 - 11/2016] 

    Result:  1

    OK

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMPRESSOR ASSEMBLY WITH PULLEY (COMPRESSOR SOLENOID) - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      C16-1 (SOL-) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:  2

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result:  1

    OK

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMPRESSOR ASSEMBLY WITH PULLEY (COMPRESSOR SOLENOID) - AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the F80 air conditioning amplifier assembly connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      C16-2 (SOL+) - F80-2 (SOL+) Always Below 1 Ω
      C16-2 (SOL+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      NG A
      OK (When troubleshooting according to Problem Symptoms Table) B
      OK (When troubleshooting according to the DTC) C

    Result:  1

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result:  2

    PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [12/2013 - 11/2016]
