Removal [02/2014 - ]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 

    Refer to PRECAUTION [02/2014 - ]

  2. ALIGN FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD 
  3. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL LH 
  4. REMOVE HORN BUTTON ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [02/2014 - ]

  5. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [02/2014 - ] 

  6. REMOVE LOWER STEERING COLUMN COVER 
    1. Remove the 2 screws.

    2. Disengage the 2 claws.

    3. Disengage the claw and remove the lower steering column cover.

  7. REMOVE UPPER STEERING COLUMN COVER 
    1. Disengage the 6 clips from the upper steering column cover.

    2. Disengage the 2 claws and remove the upper steering column cover.

  8. REMOVE TURN SIGNAL SWITCH ASSEMBLY WITH SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    NOTE:
    • Do not replace the spiral cable with sensor sub-assembly with the auxiliary battery connected and the power switch on (IG).
    • Do not rotate the spiral cable with sensor sub-assembly without the steering wheel assembly with the auxiliary battery connected and the power switch on (IG).
    • Ensure that the steering wheel assembly is installed and aligned straight when inspecting the steering sensor.
    1. Disconnect each connector from the turn signal switch assembly with spiral cable sub-assembly.
    2. Disengage the 3 claws to remove the turn signal switch assembly with spiral cable sub-assembly from the steering column assembly.

  9. REMOVE LOWER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [02/2014 - ]

  10. SEPARATE STEERING INTERMEDIATE SHAFT ASSEMBLY 
    1. Loosen the bolt.

    2. Put matchmarks on the steering intermediate shaft assembly and the steering link assembly.

      *a Matchmark
    3. Remove the bolt and separate the steering intermediate shaft assembly from the steering link assembly.
  11. REMOVE NO. 4 AIR DUCT SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the bolt.
    2. Disengage the 2 claws and guide to remove the No. 4 air duct sub-assembly.

  12. REMOVE BRAKE PEDAL SUPPORT ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [02/2014 - ]

  13. REMOVE STEERING POST ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect each connector and disengage each wire harness clamp from the steering post assembly.
    2. Remove the bolt to separate the ground wire.

    3. Disengage the 2 clamps.
    4. Disconnect the 2 connectors.
    5. Remove the bolt, 2 nuts and steering post assembly.
