DTC P1235: High Pressure Fuel Pump Circuit [11/2016 - ]: Procedure

  1. INSPECT FUEL PUMP ASSEMBLY (FOR HIGH PRESSURE SIDE) 
    1. Inspect the fuel pump assembly (for high pressure side).

      Refer to INSPECTION [11/2016 - ]

      HINT: 

      Perform "Inspection After Repair" after replacing the fuel pump assembly (for high pressure side).

      Refer to INITIALIZATION [11/2016 - ]

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE FUEL PUMP ASSEMBLY (FOR HIGH PRESSURE SIDE). Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2016 - ] 

    Result: 

    OK

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (INJECTOR DRIVER (EDU) - FUEL PUMP ASSEMBLY (FOR HIGH PRESSURE SIDE)) 
    1. Disconnect the injector driver (EDU) connector.
    2. Disconnect the fuel pump assembly (for high pressure side) connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      C79-3 (FP+) - C73-1 (FP+) Always Below 1 Ω
      C79-4 (FP-) - C73-2 (FP-) Always Below 1 Ω
      C79-3 (FP+) or C73-1 (FP+) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      C79-4 (FP-) or C73-2 (FP-) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (INJECTOR DRIVER (EDU) - ECM) 
    1. Disconnect the injector driver (EDU) connector.
    2. Disconnect the ECM connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      C80-8 (FPD) - C1-63 (FPD) Always Below 1 Ω
      C80-7 (FPF1) - C1-61 (FPF) Always Below 1 Ω
      C80-8 (FPD) or C1-63 (FPD) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      C80-7 (FPF1) or C1-61 (FPF) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  4. REPLACE INJECTOR DRIVER (EDU) 
    1. Replace the injector driver (EDU).

      Refer to REMOVAL [11/2016 - ]

  5. CHECK WHETHER DTC OUTPUT RECURS (DTC P1235) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Clear the DTCs.

      Powertrain > Engine and ECT > Clear DTCs 

    5. Turn the power switch off and wait for at least 30 seconds.
    6. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    7. Turn the Techstream on.
    8. Drive the vehicle in accordance with the driving pattern described in the Confirmation Driving Pattern.
    9. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Trouble Codes.
    10. Read the DTCs.

      Powertrain > Engine and ECT > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTC is not output A
      DTC P1235 is output B
