Removal [12/2013 - 11/2016]: Procedure
- REMOVE INTAKE AIR SURGE TANK ASSEMBLY
Refer to REMOVAL [12/2013 - 11/2016]
- SEPARATE WIRE HARNESS
- REMOVE CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL VALVE ASSEMBLY (for Intake Side of Bank 1)
- Disconnect the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly connector.
- Remove the bolt and camshaft timing oil control valve assembly from the cylinder head cover sub-assembly.NOTE:
- Do not allow foreign matter to contact the oil seal face of the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly (connecting surface with the cylinder head cover sub-assembly).
- If the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly has been struck or dropped, replace it.
- Remove the O-ring from the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly.
- Disconnect the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly connector.
- REMOVE CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL VALVE ASSEMBLY (for Exhaust Side of Bank 1)
- Disconnect the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly connector.
- Remove the bolt and camshaft timing oil control valve assembly from the cylinder head cover sub-assembly.NOTE:
- Do not allow foreign matter to contact the oil seal face of the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly (connecting surface with the cylinder head cover sub-assembly).
- If the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly has been struck or dropped, replace it.
- Remove the O-ring from the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly.
- Disconnect the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly connector.
- REMOVE CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL VALVE ASSEMBLY (for Intake Side of Bank 2)
- Disconnect the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly connector.
- Remove the bolt and camshaft timing oil control valve assembly from the cylinder head cover sub-assembly LH.NOTE:
- Do not allow foreign matter to contact the oil seal face of the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly (connecting surface with the cylinder head cover sub-assembly LH).
- If the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly has been struck or dropped, replace it.
- Remove the O-ring from the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly.
- Disconnect the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly connector.
- REMOVE CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL VALVE ASSEMBLY (for Exhaust Side of Bank 2)
- Remove the bolt and wire harness clamp bracket from the cylinder head cover sub-assembly LH.
- Disconnect the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly connector.
- Remove the bolt and camshaft timing oil control valve assembly from the cylinder head cover sub-assembly LH.NOTE:
- Do not allow foreign matter to contact the oil seal face of the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly (connecting surface with the cylinder head cover sub-assembly LH).
- If the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly has been struck or dropped, replace it.
- Remove the O-ring from the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly.
- Remove the bolt and wire harness clamp bracket from the cylinder head cover sub-assembly LH.
