Disassembly [12/2013 - ]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER TO WAY TUBE 
    1. Secure the brake master cylinder sub-assembly with way in a vise.
      NOTE:

      Place aluminum plates on the vise to prevent damage to the brake master cylinder sub-assembly and No. 2 brake tube way.

    2. Using a union nut wrench, remove the brake master cylinder to way tube.

      NOTE:
      • Do not damage or deform the brake lines during the removal procedure.
      • Do not allow any foreign matter such as dirt or dust to enter the brake lines from the connecting parts.
    3. Remove the brake master cylinder sub-assembly and No. 2 brake tube way from the vise.
  2. REMOVE NO. 2 BRAKE TUBE WAY 
  3. REMOVE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER SUB-ASSEMBLY 
  4. REMOVE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER RING PIN 
    1. Secure the brake master cylinder sub-assembly in a vise.
      NOTE:

      Place aluminum plates on the vise to prevent damage to the brake master cylinder sub-assembly.

    2. Using a 5 mm pin punch and a hammer, tap out the brake master cylinder ring pin from the brake master cylinder sub-assembly.

      NOTE:

      Do not drop the brake master cylinder reservoir assembly.

  5. REMOVE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER RESERVOIR SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the brake master cylinder reservoir sub-assembly from the brake master cylinder body.
  6. REMOVE MASTER CYLINDER RESERVOIR GROMMET 
    1. Remove the 2 master cylinder reservoir grommets from the brake master cylinder body.

    2. Remove the brake master cylinder body from the vise.
