DTC C1A4B: Stop Light Relay Circuit [11/2016 - ]: Procedure

  1. INSPECT TERMINAL VOLTAGE (SKID CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY CONNECTOR) 
    1. Turn the power switch off.
    2. Disconnect the A63 and A64 skid control ECU assembly connector.

    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A63-14 (STP2) - Body ground Brake pedal depressed 11 to 14 V
      Brake pedal released Below 1.5 V
      A64-4 (STPO) - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V
      A64-16 (STP) - Body ground Brake pedal depressed 11 to 14 V
      Brake pedal released Below 1.5 V
    4. Connect the A63 and A64 skid control ECU assembly connector.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      The voltage is as specified for every terminal. A
      Only the voltage at terminal STP2 is not as specified. B
      Only the voltage at terminal STPO is not as specified. C
      Only the voltage at terminal STP is not as specified. D

  2. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (STOP LIGHT RELAY) 
    1. Turn the power switch off.
    2. According to the display on the Techstream, perform the Active Test Stop Light Relay.

      Refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST [11/2016 - ]

  3. CHECK FOR DTCS (PRE-COLLISION SYSTEM) 
    1. Clear the DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [11/2016 - ]

      Body Electrical > Pre-Collision 2 > Clear DTCs 

    2. According to the display on the Techstream, perform the Active Test Stop Light Relay.

      Refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST [11/2016 - ]

  4. INSPECT SKID CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY

    3. Disconnect the A85 hybrid vehicle control ECU assembly connector.
    4. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      A63-14 (STP2) or A85-15 (STP) - Body ground Brake pedal depressed 11 to 14 V
    5. Connect the A85 hybrid vehicle control ECU assembly connector.

    1. Turn the power switch off.
    2. Disconnect the A63 skid control ECU assembly connector.
    3. Disconnect the F17 vehicle approaching speaker controller connector.
    4. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A63-14 (STP2) or F17-2 (STP) - Body ground Brake pedal depressed 11 to 14 V
    5. Connect the F17 vehicle approaching speaker controller connector.
    6. Connect the A63 skid control ECU assembly connector.

    REPLACE VEHICLE APPROACHING SPEAKER CONTROLLER. Refer to  COMPONENTS [02/2014 - ]

  8. CHECK WIRE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SKID CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY - SHIFT LOCK CONTROL ECU (TRANSMISSION FLOOR SHIFT ASSEMBLY)) 
    1. Turn the power switch off.
    2. Disconnect the A63 skid control ECU assembly connector.
    3. Disconnect the F48 shift lock control ECU (transmission floor shift assembly) connector.
    4. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A63-14 (STP2) or F48-6 (STP) - Body ground Brake pedal depressed 11 to 14 V
    5. Connect the F48 shift lock control ECU (transmission floor shift assembly) connector.
    6. Connect the A63 skid control ECU assembly connector.

  9. CHECK WIRE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SKID CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY - CERTIFICATION ECU (SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY)) 
    1. Turn the power switch off.
    2. Disconnect the A63 skid control ECU assembly connector.
    3. Disconnect the F9 certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) connector.
    4. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A63-14 (STP2) or F9-2 (STP1) - Body ground Brake pedal depressed 11 to 14 V
    5. Connect the F9 certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) connector.
    6. Connect the A63 skid control ECU assembly connector.

  10. CHECK WIRE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SKID CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY - STOP LIGHT RELAY (STOP LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY)) 
    1. Turn the power switch off.
    2. Disconnect the A63 skid control ECU assembly connector.
    3. Disconnect the A83 stop light relay (stop light switch assembly) connector.
    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A63-14 (STP2) - A83-3 (L) Always Below 1 Ω
      A63-14 (STP2) or A83-3 (L) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
    5. Connect the A83 stop light relay (stop light switch assembly) connector.
    6. Connect the A63 skid control ECU assembly connector.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    REPLACE STOP LIGHT RELAY (STOP LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY). Refer to  COMPONENTS [02/2014 - ]

  11. CHECK WIRE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SKID CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY - STOP LIGHT RELAY (STOP LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY)) 
    1. Turn the power switch off.
    2. Disconnect the A63 skid control ECU assembly connector.
    3. Disconnect the A83 stop light relay (stop light switch assembly) connector.
    4. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A63-14 (STP2) or A83-3 (L) - Body ground Brake pedal released Below 1.5 V
    5. Connect the A83 stop light relay (stop light switch assembly) connector.
    6. Connect the A63 skid control ECU assembly connector.

      Result

    REPLACE STOP LIGHT RELAY (STOP LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY). Refer to  COMPONENTS [02/2014 - ]

    1. Turn the power switch off.

    3. Disconnect the A85 hybrid vehicle control ECU assembly connector.
    4. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

    5. Connect the A85 hybrid vehicle control ECU assembly connector.

    4. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

    5. Connect the F9 certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) connector.

    3. Disconnect the A83 stop light relay (stop light switch assembly) connector.
    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      A64-4 (STPO) - A83-4 (ACC) Always Below 1 Ω
    5. Connect the A83 stop light relay (stop light switch assembly) connector.
    6. Connect the A64 skid control ECU assembly connector.

    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    5. Connect the A83 stop light relay (stop light switch assembly) connector.

    3. Disconnect the M30 rear combination light assembly LH connector.
    4. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      A64-16 (STP) or M30-2 (STP) - Body ground Brake pedal depressed 11 to 14 V
    5. Connect the M30 rear combination light assembly LH connector.
    6. Connect the A64 skid control ECU assembly connector.

    3. Disconnect the M32 rear combination light assembly RH connector.
    4. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      A64-16 (STP) or M32-2 (STP) - Body ground Brake pedal depressed 11 to 14 V
    5. Connect the M32 rear combination light assembly RH connector.
    6. Connect the A64 skid control ECU assembly connector.

    3. Disconnect the Y1 center stop light assembly connector.
    4. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      A64-16 (STP) or Y1-2 (B) - Body ground Brake pedal depressed 11 to 14 V
    5. Connect the Y1 center stop light assembly connector.
    6. Connect the A64 skid control ECU assembly connector.

    4. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

    5. Connect the X29 rear light assembly LH connector.
    6. Connect the A64 skid control ECU assembly connector.

    5. Connect the X35 rear light assembly RH connector.
    6. Connect the A64 skid control ECU assembly connector.

    3. Disconnect the A83 stop light relay (stop light switch assembly) connector.
    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      A64-16 (STP) - A83-1 (OUT) Always Below 1 Ω
      A64-16 (STP) or A83-1 (OUT) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
    5. Connect the A83 stop light relay (stop light switch assembly) connector.
    6. Connect the A64 skid control ECU assembly connector.

      Result

  25. CHECK WIRE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SKID CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY - STOP LIGHT RELAY (STOP LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY)) 
    1. Turn the power switch off.
    2. Disconnect the A64 skid control ECU assembly connector.
    3. Disconnect the A83 stop light relay (stop light switch assembly) connector.
    4. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

    5. Connect the A83 stop light relay (stop light switch assembly) connector.
