DTC C1A40: ENG / EHV Device [02/2014 - 11/2016]: Procedure

  1. CHECK FOR DTCs (HYBRID CONTROL SYSTEM) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.
    5. Check for DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [02/2014 - 11/2016]

      Powertrain > Hybrid Control > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      Hybrid control system DTCs are not output A
      Hybrid control system DTCs are output B
    6. Turn the power switch off.

    Result:  2

    GO TO HYBRID CONTROL SYSTEM. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [02/2014 - ] 

    Result:  1

    See step  2

  2. CHECK FOR DTCs (SFI SYSTEM) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Trouble Codes.
    5. Check for DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [02/2014 - 11/2016]

      Powertrain > Engine and ECT > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      SFI system DTCs are not output A
      SFI system DTCs are output B
    6. Turn the power switch off.

    Result:  2

    GO TO SFI SYSTEM. Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [02/2014 - 08/2014]  Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [08/2014 - 11/2015]  Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [11/2015 - 11/2016] 

    Result:  1

  3. REPLACE DRIVING SUPPORT ECU ASSEMBLY 
    1. Replace the driving support ECU assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [02/2014 - ]

      NOTE:

      When replacing the driving support ECU assembly, always replace it with a new one. If a driving support ECU assembly which was installed to another vehicle is used, the information stored in the driving support ECU assembly will not match the information from the vehicle. As a result, a DTC may be stored.

    NEXT 

  4. CHECK FOR DTC (PRE-COLLISION 2) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Clear the DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [02/2014 - 11/2016]

    4. Make sure that the DTC detection conditions are met.

      HINT: 

      If the detection conditions are not met, the system cannot detect the malfunction.

    5. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Pre-Collision 2 / Trouble Codes.
    6. Check for DTCs.

      Body Electrical > Pre-Collision 2 > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTC C1A40 is not output A
      DTC C1A40 is output B
    7. Turn the power switch off.

    Result:  1

    END (DRIVING SUPPORT ECU ASSEMBLY WAS DEFECTIVE) 

    Result:  2

  5. REPLACE POWER MANAGEMENT CONTROL ECU 
    1. Replace the power management control ECU with a new one.

      Refer to REMOVAL [02/2014 - 11/2016]

    NEXT 

  6. CHECK FOR DTC (PRE-COLLISION 2) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Clear the DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [02/2014 - 11/2016]

    4. Make sure that the DTC detection conditions are met.

      HINT: 

      If the detection conditions are not met, the system cannot detect the malfunction.

    5. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Pre-Collision 2 / Trouble Codes.
    6. Check for DTCs.

      Body Electrical > Pre-Collision 2 > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTC C1A40 is not output A
      DTC C1A40 is output B
    7. Turn the power switch off.

    Result:  1

    END (POWER MANAGEMENT CONTROL ECU WAS DEFECTIVE) 

    Result:  2

    REPLACE ECM. Refer to  COMPONENTS [02/2014 - 11/2016]
