Indicator Circuit [11/2016 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK SHIFT POSITION INDICATOR 
    1. Turn the power switch on (ACC).
    2. Check that each shift position indicator light turns on correctly.
      Result Proceed to
      All shift position indicator lights turn on simultaneously A
      Shift position indicator lights other than corresponding one turn on A
      Corresponding shift position indicator light does not turn on B
      No shift position indicator lights turn on B
    3. Turn the power switch off.

    Result: 

    See step  4

    Result: 

    Go to next step 

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CHECK FOR SHORT TO GND) 
    1. Disconnect the F136 and F137 hybrid vehicle control ECU assembly connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F137-13 (INDP) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F136-8 (INDR) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F137-12 (INDN) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F137-11 (INDD) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F137-10 (INDM) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher

      (to Hybrid Vehicle Control ECU Assembly)
    3. Reconnect the F136 and F137 hybrid vehicle control ECU assembly connector.
      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY.  Refer to COMPONENTS [11/2016 - ] .

    Result: 

    NG 

    Go to next step 

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY - SHIFT POSITION INDICATOR (SHIFTING HOLE BEZEL)) 
    1. Disconnect the F136 and F137 hybrid vehicle control ECU assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the Q1 shift position indicator (shifting hole bezel) connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F137-13 (INDP) or Q1-4 (P) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F136-8 (INDR) or Q1-3 (R) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F137-12 (INDN) or Q1-2 (N) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F137-11 (INDD) or Q1-1 (D) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F137-10 (INDM) or Q1-5 (S) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher

    4. Reconnect the Q1 shift position indicator (shifting hole bezel) connector.
    5. Reconnect the F136 and F137 hybrid vehicle control ECU assembly connector.
      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE SHIFT POSITION INDICATOR (SHIFTING HOLE BEZEL).  Refer to COMPONENTS [02/2014 - ] .

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  4. CHECK FUSE (ECU-ACC) 
    1. Remove the ECU-ACC fuse from the instrument panel junction block assembly.

      *1 Instrument Panel Junction Block Assembly
      *2 ECU-ACC Fuse
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      ECU-ACC fuse terminals Always Below 1 Ω
    3. Install the ECU-ACC fuse.
      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE FUSE (ECU-ACC) 

    Result: 

    OK 

    Go to next step 

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER SOURCE CIRCUIT) 
    1. Disconnect the Q1 shift position indicator (shifting hole bezel) connector.
    2. Turn the power switch on (ACC).
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Q1-6 (PWR) - Body ground Power switch on (ACC) 11 to 14 V

    4. Turn the power switch off.
    5. Reconnect the Q1 shift position indicator (shifting hole bezel) connector.
      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE POWER SOURCE CIRCUIT 

    Result: 

    OK 

    Go to next step 

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER SOURCE TERMINAL ACCI) 
    1. Turn the power switch on (ACC).
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A85-22 (ACCI) - Body ground Power switch on (ACC) 11 to 14 V

    3. Turn the power switch off.
      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE POWER SOURCE CIRCUIT 

    Result: 

    OK 

    Go to next step 

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CHECK FOR OPEN) 
    1. Disconnect the F136 and F137 hybrid vehicle control ECU assembly connector.
    2. Turn the power switch on (ACC).
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F137-13 (INDP) - Body ground and other terminals Power switch on (ACC) 11 to 14 V
      F136-8 (INDR) - Body ground and other terminals Power switch on (ACC) 11 to 14 V
      F137-12 (INDN) - Body ground and other terminals Power switch on (ACC) 11 to 14 V
      F137-11 (INDD) - Body ground and other terminals Power switch on (ACC) 11 to 14 V
      F137-10 (INDM) - Body ground and other terminals Power switch on (ACC) 11 to 14 V

    4. Turn the power switch off.
    5. Reconnect the F136 and F137 hybrid vehicle control ECU assembly connector.
      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY.  Refer to COMPONENTS [11/2016 - ] .

    Result: 

    NG 

    Go to next step 

  8. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY - SHIFT POSITION INDICATOR (SHIFTING HOLE BEZEL)) 
    1. Disconnect the F136 and F137 hybrid vehicle control ECU assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the Q1 shift position indicator (shifting hole bezel) connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F137-13 (INDP) - Q1-4 (P) Always Below 1 Ω
      F136-8 (INDR) - Q1-3 (R) Always Below 1 Ω
      F137-12 (INDN) - Q1-2 (N) Always Below 1 Ω
      F137-11 (INDD) - Q1-1 (D) Always Below 1 Ω
      F137-10 (INDM) - Q1-5 (S) Always Below 1 Ω

    4. Reconnect the Q1 shift position indicator (shifting hole bezel) connector.
    5. Reconnect the F136 and F137 hybrid vehicle control ECU assembly connector.

    OK 

    REPLACE SHIFT POSITION INDICATOR (SHIFTING HOLE BEZEL).  Refer to COMPONENTS [02/2014 - ] .

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
