Ecu Power Source Circuit [02/2014 - 11/2016]: Procedure

  1. CHECK POWER MANAGEMENT CONTROL ECU (+B1, +B2 VOLTAGE) 
    1. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      *a Component with harness connected
      (Power Management Control ECU)

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A61-3 (+B1) - Body ground Power switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V
      A60-1 (+B2) - Body ground Power switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V
    3. Turn the power switch off.
      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    See step  3

    Result: 

    OK 

    Go to next step 

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER MANAGEMENT CONTROL ECU - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the F15 and F16 power management control ECU connectors.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      *a Rear view of wire harness connector
      (to Power Management Control ECU)

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F15-5 (E01) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      F15-6 (E1) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      F16-4 (E12) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      F16-5 (E02) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
    3. Reconnect the F15 and F16 power management control ECU connectors.
      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    GO TO PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE.  Refer to PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [02/2014 - 11/2016] .

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  3. CHECK POWER MANAGEMENT CONTROL ECU (MREL VOLTAGE) 
    1. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      *a Component with harness connected
      (Power Management Control ECU)

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A60-4 (MREL) - Body ground Power switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V
    3. Turn the power switch off.
      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE POWER MANAGEMENT CONTROL ECU.  Refer to COMPONENTS [02/2014 - 11/2016] .

    Result: 

    OK 

    Go to next step 

  4. CHECK FUSE (PM-IGCT) 
    1. Remove the PM-IGCT fuse from the No. 3 engine room relay block.

      *1 No. 3 Engine Room Relay Block
      *2 PM-IGCT Fuse
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      PM-IGCT fuse terminals Always Below 1 Ω
    3. Install the PM-IGCT fuse.
      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG

    Go to next step 

  5. INSPECT RELAY (IGCT) 
    1. Remove the IGCT relay from the No. 3 engine room relay block.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      *1 IGCT Relay

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      3 - 5 Auxiliary battery voltage not applied between terminals 1 and 2 10 kΩ or higher
      Auxiliary battery voltage applied between terminals 1 and 2 Below 1 Ω
    3. Install the IGCT relay.
      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE RELAY (IGCT) 

    Result: 

    OK 

    Go to next step 

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NO. 3 ENGINE ROOM RELAY BLOCK - POWER MANAGEMENT CONTROL ECU) 
    1. Remove the PM-IGCT fuse from the No. 3 engine room relay block.

      *1 No. 3 Engine Room Relay Block
      *2 PM-IGCT Fuse
    2. Disconnect the A60 and A61 power management control ECU connectors.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      *1 No. 3 Engine Room Relay Block *2 PM-IGCT Fuse
      *a Rear view of wire harness connector
      (to Power Management Control ECU)
      - -

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      2 (PM-IGCT fuse) - A61-3 (+B1) Always Below 1 Ω
      2 (PM IGCT fuse) - A60-1 (+B2) Always Below 1 Ω
    4. Reconnect the A60 and A61 power management control ECU connectors.
    5. Install the PM-IGCT fuse.
      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK 

    Go to next step 

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NO. 3 ENGINE ROOM RELAY BLOCK) 
    1. Remove the PM-IGCT fuse and IGCT relay from the No. 3 engine room relay block.

      *1 No. 3 Engine Room Relay Block
      *2 PM-IGCT Fuse
      *3 IGCT Relay
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    3. Install the PM-IGCT fuse and IGCT relay.

  8. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER MANAGEMENT CONTROL ECU - NO. 3 ENGINE ROOM RELAY BLOCK) 
    1. Disconnect the A60 power management control ECU connector.
    2. Remove the IGCT relay from the No. 3 engine room relay block.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      *1 No. 3 Engine Room Relay Block *2 IGCT Relay

      (to Power Management Control ECU)

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A60-4 (MREL) - 1 (IGCT relay) Always Below 1 Ω
      A60-4 (MREL) or 1 (IGCT relay) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
    4. Install the IGCT relay.
    5. Reconnect the A60 power management control ECU connector.
      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK 

    Go to next step 

  9. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NO. 3 ENGINE ROOM RELAY BLOCK - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Remove the IGCT relay from the No. 3 engine room relay block.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      *1 No. 3 Engine Room Relay Block
      *2 IGCT Relay

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      2 (IGCT relay) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
    3. Install the IGCT relay.
      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK 

    Go to next step 

  10. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NO. 1 ENGINE ROOM RELAY BLOCK AND NO. 1 JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY - NO. 3 ENGINE ROOM RELAY BLOCK) 
    1. Disconnect the No. 2 engine room wire from the AMD terminal (No. 1 engine room relay block and No. 1 junction block assembly side).

      *1 No. 1 Engine Room Relay Block and No. 1 Junction Block Assembly
      *2 AMD Terminal
    2. Remove the IGCT relay from the No. 3 engine room relay block.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      *1 No. 1 Engine Room Relay Block and No. 1 Junction Block Assembly *2 No. 3 Engine Room Relay Block
      *3 AMD Terminal *4 IGCT Relay

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1M-1 (AMD terminal) - 3 (IGCT Relay) Always Below 1 Ω
    4. Install the IGCT Relay.
    5. Reconnect the No. 2 engine room wire.
      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS.  Refer to CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS [02/2014 - ] .

    Result: 

    NG 

    Go to next step 

  11. CHECK FUSIBLE LINK BLOCK ASSEMBLY (R/B NO. 3) 
    1. Check the fusible link block assembly (R/B NO. 3) in the No. 1 engine room relay block and No. 1 junction block assembly for improper installation.

      OK

      The fusible link is installed securely.

    2. Remove the fusible link block assembly from the No. 1 engine room relay block and No. 1 junction block assembly.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Fusible link block assembly (R/B NO. 3) 1 - 2 Always Below 1 Ω

      *1 Fusible Link Block Assembly
    4. Install the fusible link block assembly.
      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

    REPLACE FUSIBLE LINK BLOCK ASSEMBLY (R/B NO. 3) 

  12. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NO. 3 ENGINE ROOM RELAY BLOCK - POWER MANAGEMENT CONTROL ECU) 
    1. Remove the PM-IGCT fuse from the No. 3 engine room relay block.

      *1 No. 3 Engine Room Relay Block
      *2 PM-IGCT Fuse
    2. Disconnect the A60 and A61 power management control ECU connectors.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      2 (PM-IGCT fuse) or A61-3 (+B1) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      2 (PM-IGCT fuse) or A60-1 (+B2) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
    4. Reconnect the A60 and A61 power management control ECU connectors.
    5. Install the PM-IGCT fuse.
      Proceed to
