DTC P0A92-261: Hybrid Generator Performance [02/2014 - 11/2015]: Procedure

  1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HYBRID CONTROL) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.
    4. Check for DTCs.

      Powertrain > Hybrid Control > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      P0A92-261 only is output, or DTCs except the ones in the table below are also output. A
      Any of the following DTCs are also output. B

      HINT: 

      • *1: If any INF codes are output for this DTC, refer to the corresponding diagnostic procedure.
      • P0A92-261 may be stored due to a malfunction which causes the DTCs in the preceding table to be stored. In this case, first troubleshoot the output DTCs in the preceding table. Then, perform a reproduction test to check that no DTCs are output.
    5. Turn the power switch off.

    Result:  2

    GO TO DTC CHART (HYBRID CONTROL SYSTEM). Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [02/2014 - 11/2015] 

    Result:  1

  2. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HYBRID CONTROL) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.
    4. Check for DTCs.

      Powertrain > Hybrid Control > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      Any of the following DTCs are also output. A
      P0A92-261 only is output, or DTCs except the ones in the table below are also output. B
      Relevant DTC
      P0A90-251 Drive Motor "A" Performance
      P0A91-705 Drive Motor "B" Performance

      HINT: 

      When the DTCs listed in the preceding table are also output, there may be a short between the HSDN (MG shut down signal) circuit and power circuit.

    5. Turn the power switch off.

    Result:  2

  3. CHECK POWER MANAGEMENT CONTROL ECU 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  4. SIMULATION TEST 
    1. Turn the power switch on (READY).
    2. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    3. Clear the DTCs.
    4. Drive the vehicle until the cumulative traveling time using the engine is a few minutes. (It is not necessary to drive continuously using the engine.)

      HINT: 

      If the accelerator pedal is depressed with the shift lever in P, the engine will start.

    5. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.
    6. Check for DTCs.

      Powertrain > Hybrid Control > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Proceed to
      P0A92-261 is output or no DTCs are output.
      P0A7A-344 or P0A92-521 is output.
    7. Turn the power switch off.

    Result:  2

    P0A7A-344 or P0A92-521 is output. 

    GO TO DTC CHART (HYBRID CONTROL SYSTEM). Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [02/2014 - 11/2015] 

    Result:  1

    P0A92-261 is output or no DTCs are output.

  5. CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION (INVERTER WITH CONVERTER ASSEMBLY CONNECTOR) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

    NG (The terminals are not making secure contact or are deformed, or water or foreign matter exists in the connector.) C

  6. CHECK INVERTER WITH CONVERTER ASSEMBLY (GENERATOR CABLE CONNECTION CONDITION) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER MANAGEMENT CONTROL ECU - INVERTER WITH CONVERTER ASSEMBLY)
