DTC P0C3E-628: DC / DC Converter Temperature Sensor "B" Range / Performance; DTC P0C41-627: DC / DC Converter Temperature Sensor "B" Intermittent / Erratic [02/2014 - 11/2016]: Procedure

  1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HYBRID CONTROL) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.
    4. Check for DTCs.

      Powertrain > Hybrid Control > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      P0C3E-628 or P0C41-627 only is output, or DTCs except the ones in the table below are also output. A
      Any of the following DTCs are also output. B
      Relevant DTC
      P0A93-346 Inverter Cooling System Performance
      P0C73-776 Motor Electronics Coolant Pump "A" Control Performance
      P314A-828 Inverter Coolant Pump Speed Signal

      HINT: 

      P0C3E-628 or P0C41-627 may be stored due to a malfunction which also causes DTCs in the preceding table to be stored. In this case, first troubleshoot the output DTCs in the preceding table. Then, perform a test to attempt to reproduce the problems, and check that no DTCs are output.

    5. Turn the power switch off.

    Result:  2

    GO TO DTC CHART (HYBRID CONTROL SYSTEM). Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [02/2014 - 11/2015]  Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [11/2015 - 11/2016] 

    Result:  1

  2. CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION (INVERTER WITH CONVERTER ASSEMBLY CONNECTOR) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

    Result Proceed to
    OK A
    NG (The connector is not connected securely.) B
    NG (The terminals are not making secure contact or are deformed, or water or foreign matter exists in the connector.) C

    Result:  2

    CONNECT SECURELY 

    Result:  3

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result:  1

  3. CHECK QUANTITY OF HV COOLANT 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

    Result

    Result Proceed to
    No leaks are found and the HV coolant level in the inverter reserve tank assembly is above the low line. A
    No leaks are found and the HV coolant level in the inverter reserve tank assembly is below the low line. B
    HV coolant leaks are evident. C

    Result:  2

    ADD HV COOLANT 

    Result:  3

    INSPECT FOR HV COOLANT LEAK AND ADD HV COOLANT 

    Result:  1

  4. CHECK COOLANT HOSE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4

    Result

    Proceed to
    OK
    NG

    Result:  2

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE COOLANT HOSE 

    Result:  1

    OK 

    See step  5

  5. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (CONTROL THE ELECTRIC COOLING FAN) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5

    NG

    Result:  2

    NG 

    CHECK COOLING FAN SYSTEM. Refer to  Cooling Fan Circuit [02/2014 - 11/2016] 

    Result:  1

    OK

  6. CHECK HV COOLANT (CHECK FOR CONDITIONS THAT MAY HAVE CAUSED FREEZING) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6

    Result

    Result Proceed to
    Ambient Temperature value is below freezing temperature of the HV coolant. A
    Ambient Temperature value is above freezing temperature of the HV coolant. B

    Result:  2

    REPLACE INVERTER WITH CONVERTER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  COMPONENTS [02/2014 - 11/2016] 

    Result:  1

  7. REPLACE HV COOLANT 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7

    Result
