DTC B1473/73: A/C Inverter Start-up Signal System Malfunction [11/2016 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM 
    1. Using the Techstream, check if the CAN communication system is functioning normally.

      Refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [11/2016 - ]

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      CAN communication system DTCs are not output A
      CAN communication system DTCs are output B

    Result:  2

    GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [11/2016 - ] 

    Result:  1

  2. CHECK FOR DTC 
    1. Check if air conditioning system and hybrid control system DTCs are output.

      Refer to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [11/2016 - 10/2017] Refer to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [10/2017 - ]

      Body Electrical > Air Conditioner > Trouble Codes 

      Powertrain > Hybrid Control > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      Only DTC B1473/73 is output A
      DTCs B1473/73 and P3108 are output simultaneously (B1498/98 is not output)
      DTCs B1473/73 and B1498/98 are output simultaneously (P3108 is not output) B
      DTCs B1473/73, B1498/98 and P3108 are output simultaneously
      DTCs other than P3108 are output for hybrid control system C

    Result:  2

    GO TO DTC B1498/98. Refer to  DTC B1498/98: Communication Malfunction (A/C Inverter Local) [11/2016 - ]  

    Result:  3

    GO TO HYBRID CONTROL SYSTEM. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [02/2014 - ] 

    Result:  1

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMPRESSOR WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY - HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY) 
    WARNING:

    Do not disconnect the connector on the high-voltage side.

    1. Disconnect the C13 compressor with motor assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the A86 hybrid vehicle control ECU assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      C13-4 (STBI) - A86-11 (STB) Always Below 1 Ω
      C13-4 (STBI) or A86-11 (STB) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:  2

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result:  1

    OK

  4. INSPECT COMPRESSOR WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY

    *a Front view of wire harness connector
    (to Hybrid Vehicle Control ECU Assembly)
    1. Connect the C13 compressor with motor assembly connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A86-11 (STB) - Body ground Power switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V
      A86-11 (STB) - Body ground Power switch off Below 1 V

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:  1

    OK 

    REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2016 - ] 

    Result:  2

    NG 

    REPLACE COMPRESSOR WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2016 - ]
