Rear Blower Motor Circuit [02/2014 - ]: Procedure

  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Air Conditioner / Active Test.
    5. Check the operation by referring to the table below.

      Body Electrical > Air Conditioner > Active Test

  2. INSPECT REAR BLOWER MOTOR WITH FAN SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the L18 rear blower motor with fan sub-assembly connector.
    2. Connect a positive (+) lead from the auxiliary battery to terminal 2 and a negative (-) lead to terminal 1, and check that the motor operates.

      The rear blower motor with fan sub-assembly operates smoothly.

    REPLACE REAR BLOWER MOTOR WITH FAN SUB-ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [02/2014 - 11/2015]  Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2015 - ]

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BLOWER MOTOR CONTROL - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the L19 blower motor control connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      L19-6 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:  2

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BLOWER MOTOR CONTROL - AUXILIARY BATTERY) 
    1. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      L19-1 (+B) - Body ground Power switch off 11 to 14 V

      Result

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BLOWER MOTOR CONTROL - REAR BLOWER MOTOR WITH FAN SUB-ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      L19-2 (VM) - L18-2 Always Below 1 Ω
      L19-2 (VM) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR BLOWER MOTOR WITH FAN SUB-ASSEMBLY - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      L18-1 - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BLOWER MOTOR CONTROL - AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the F81 air conditioning amplifier assembly connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F81-26 (BLWH) - L19-3 (SI) Always Below 1 Ω
      F81-26 (BLWH) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:  2

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  8. INSPECT BLOWER MOTOR CONTROL 
    1. Reconnect the L19 blower motor control connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

  9. INSPECT AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Reconnect the F81 air conditioning amplifier assembly connector.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the rear blower switch on (LO).
    4. Measure the waveform between terminal F81-26 (BLWH) of the air conditioning amplifier assembly and body ground.

      Waveform is similar to that shown in the illustration.

      HINT: 

      The waveform varies with the blower level.
