ECO Switch Circuit [02/2014 - ]: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Air Conditioner / Data List.
    5. Check the values by referring to the table below.

      Body Electrical > Air Conditioner > Data List 

      Tester Display Measurement Item Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
      ECO Switch Heater switch assembly OFF or ON OFF: Heater switch assembly off (when switch is not pressed)
      ON: Heater switch assembly on (when switch is pressed)
      -

      Body Electrical > Air Conditioner > Data List 

      Tester Display
      ECO Switch

      OK

      Heater switch assembly condition displayed on the Techstream changes with the actual switch operation.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:  1

    OK 

    PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [02/2014 - 11/2016]  Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [11/2016 - ] 

    Result:  2

    NG

  2. INSPECT HEATER SWITCH ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the heater switch assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [02/2014 - ]

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      *a Component without harness connected
      (Heater Switch Assembly)

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      4 (ECU) - 1 (E) Heater switch assembly off (when switch is not pressed) 10 kΩ or higher
      Heater switch assembly on (when switch is pressed) Below 10 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:  2

    NG 

    REPLACE HEATER SWITCH ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [02/2014 - ] 

    Result:  1

    OK

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HEATER SWITCH ASSEMBLY - AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the F80 air conditioning amplifier assembly connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F80-4 (ECON) - F44-4 (ECU) Always Below 1 Ω
      F80-4 (ECON) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:  2

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result:  1

    OK

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HEATER SWITCH ASSEMBLY - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F44-1 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:  1

    OK 

    REPLACE AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [02/2014 - ] 

    Result:  2

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
