Blower Motor Circuit [02/2014 - ]: Procedure

  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Air Conditioner / Active Test.
    5. Check the operation by referring to the table below.

      Body Electrical > Air Conditioner > Active Test

    PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [02/2014 - 11/2016]  Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [11/2016 - ]

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BLOWER MOTOR WITH FAN SUB-ASSEMBLY - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the F82 blower motor with fan sub-assembly connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F82-1 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:  2

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result:  1

    OK

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BLOWER MOTOR WITH FAN SUB-ASSEMBLY - AUXILIARY BATTERY) 
    1. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F82-3 (+B) - Body ground Power switch off 11 to 14 V

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:  2

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result:  1

    OK

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY - BLOWER MOTOR WITH FAN SUB-ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the F80 air conditioning amplifier assembly connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F80-22 (BLW) - F82-2 (SI) Always Below 1 Ω
      F80-22 (BLW) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:  2

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result:  1

    OK

  5. INSPECT BLOWER MOTOR WITH FAN SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Reconnect the F82 blower motor with fan sub-assembly connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F80-22 (BLW) - Body ground Always 4.5 to 5.5 V

    Result:  2

    NG 

    REPLACE BLOWER MOTOR WITH FAN SUB-ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [02/2014 - ]

  6. INSPECT AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Reconnect the F80 air conditioning amplifier assembly connector.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the blower switch on (LO).
    4. Measure the waveform between terminal F80-22 (BLW) of the air conditioning amplifier assembly and body ground.

      OK

      Waveform is similar to that shown in the illustration.

      HINT: 

      The waveform varies with the blower speed.
