DTC P1606-308: Collision has been detected or Collision Sensor Connection (Open); DTC P1606-317: Collision has been detected or Collision Sensor Connection (Open) [11/2016 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK VEHICLE FOR COLLISION DAMAGE 
    1. Check the vehicle condition.

      Result

      Proceed to
      The vehicle is not damaged.
      The vehicle is damaged.

    Result:  2

    The vehicle is damaged. 

    REPAIR VEHICLE 

    Result:  1

    The vehicle is not damaged. 

    See step  2

  2. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HYBRID CONTROL) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.
    4. Check for DTCs.

      Powertrain > Hybrid Control > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Proceed to
      Both P1606 and P0A1D output
      Other than above
    5. Turn the power switch off.

    Result:  1

    Both P1606 and P0A1D output 

    GO TO DTC CHART (P0A1D). Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [11/2016 - 10/2017]  Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [10/2017 - ] 

    Result:  2

    Other than above 

    See step  3

  3. CHECK AIRBAG SYSTEM 
    1. Troubleshoot the airbag system.

      Refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [02/2014 - ]

      Result

      Proceed to
      The airbag system is normal.
      There is a malfunction in the airbag system.

    Result:  2

    There is a malfunction in the airbag system. 

    REPAIR MALFUNCTIONING PARTS, COMPONENT AND AREA 

    Result:  1

    The airbag system is normal.

  4. CHECK INFORMATION CODE (HYBRID CONTROL) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.
    4. Access the freeze frame data of DTC P1606 and read the INF code.

      Result

      Proceed to
      INF code 308 is output.
      INF code 317 is output.
    5. Turn the power switch off.

    Result:  1

    INF code 308 is output. 

    REPLACE AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY. Refer to  COMPONENTS [02/2014 - ] 

    Result:  2

    INF code 317 is output.

  5. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HYBRID CONTROL) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.
    4. Check for DTCs.

      Powertrain > Hybrid Control > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      One or two of the following conditions are met. A
      All of the following conditions are met. B
      DTC Output Status
      P3107-213 or P3107-214 is output.
      U0151-763 is output.
      U0110-160 or U0110-657 is output.
    5. Turn the power switch off.

    Result:  1

    REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY. Refer to  COMPONENTS [11/2016 - ] 

    Result:  2

    GO TO DTC CHART (HYBRID CONTROL SYSTEM). Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [11/2016 - 10/2017]  Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [10/2017 - ]
