DTC P324E-788: MG-ECU Power Relay Intermittent Circuit [11/2016 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HYBRID CONTROL) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.
    4. Check for DTCs.

      Powertrain > Hybrid Control > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      P324E-788 only is output or any DTCs other than U0110-159, 160, 656, 657 is also output. A
      U0110-159, 160, 656, 657 are also output. B
    5. Turn the power switch off.

    Result:  2

    GO TO DTC CHART (HYBRID CONTROL SYSTEM). Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [11/2016 - 10/2017]  Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [10/2017 - ] 

    Result:  1

  2. CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION (INVERTER WITH CONVERTER ASSEMBLY CONNECTOR) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

    Result

    Result Proceed to
    OK A
    NG (The connector is not connected securely.) B
    NG (The terminals are not making secure contact or are deformed, or water or foreign matter exists in the connector.) C

    Result:  2

    CONNECT SECURELY 

    Result:  3

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result:  1

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (INVERTER WITH CONVERTER ASSEMBLY - IGCT RELAY) 
    WARNING:

    Be sure to wear insulated gloves.

    1. Check that the service plug grip is not installed.
      NOTE:

      After removing the service plug grip, do not turn the power switch on (READY), unless instructed by the repair information because this may cause a malfunction.

    2. Disconnect the A46 inverter with converter assembly connector.
    3. Remove the IGCT relay from the No. 3 engine room relay block.
    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      (to Inverter with Converter Assembly)

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A46-30 (+B) - 5 (IGCT relay) Power switch off Below 1 Ω
      A46-31 (+B2) - 5 (IGCT relay) Power switch off Below 1 Ω
      A46-10 (GND1) - Body ground Power switch off Below 1 Ω
      A46-11 (GND2) - Body ground Power switch off Below 1 Ω
    5. Install the IGCT relay.
    6. Reconnect the A46 inverter with converter assembly connector.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:  1

    OK 

    REFER TO REPLACE INVERTER WITH CONVERTER ASSEMBLY PARTS. Refer to  DTC CHECK / CLEAR [11/2016 - ] 

    Result:  2

    NG
