On-Vehicle Inspection [11/2016 - ]: Procedure

  1. FUEL PUMP ASSEMBLY OPERATION 
    1. Check fuel pressure.
      1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
      2. Put the engine in inspection mode (maintenance mode).

        Refer to INSPECTION MODE PROCEDURE [11/2016 - ]

      3. Start the engine.
      4. Turn the Techstream on.
      5. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Active Test / Control the Target Fuel Pressure / Fuel Press.

        Powertrain > Engine and ECT > Active Test 

        Active Test Display
        Control the Target Fuel Pressure
        Data List Display
        Fuel Press
      6. Select the Data List item: Fuel Press.
      7. Check that the fuel pressure fluctuates when the target fuel pressure changes.

        HINT: 

        The target fuel pressure operation decreases the target fuel pressure by 12.5% or increases the target fuel pressure by 24.8%.

        If the result is not as specified, replace the fuel pump assembly or fuel delivery pipe with sensor assembly LH (fuel pressure sensor).

    2. Check operating sound.
      1. Remove the front wiper motor and link assembly.

        Refer to REMOVAL [02/2014 - ]

      2. Remove the outer cowl top panel sub-assembly.

        Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

      3. Put the engine in inspection mode (maintenance mode).

        Refer to INSPECTION MODE PROCEDURE [11/2016 - ]

      4. Start the engine.
      5. Using a sound scope, check the operating sound of the fuel pump assembly.

        If no sound can be heard, check the fuel pump assembly, wire harness and ECM.

      6. Stop the engine.
      7. Install the outer cowl top panel sub-assembly.

        Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10

      8. Install the front wiper motor and link assembly.
