Removal [11/2016 - ]: Procedure

- REMOVE FUEL TANK ASSEMBLY
Refer to REMOVAL [11/2016 - ]
- REMOVE FUEL VAPOR CONTAINMENT VALVE (FUEL TANK SOLENOID MAIN VALVE ASSEMBLY)
- Disconnect the fuel vapor containment valve (fuel tank solenoid main valve assembly) connector.
- Disconnect the fuel tank vent hose sub-assembly from the fuel tank assembly.
Pinch Pull off NOTE:- Remove any dirt or foreign matter on the fuel tank vent hose sub-assembly before performing this work.
- Do not allow any scratches or foreign matter to get on the parts when disconnecting them as the fuel tank vent hose sub-assembly has an O-ring that seals the pipe (fuel tank assembly).
- Perform this work by hand. Do not use any tools.
- Do not forcibly bend, twist or turn the fuel tank vent hose sub-assembly.
- Protect the disconnected parts by covering them with plastic bags after disconnecting the fuel tank vent hose sub-assembly.
- If the fuel tank vent hose sub-assembly and pipe (fuel tank assembly) are stuck, push and pull to release them.
- Push the fuel tank vent hose sub-assembly firmly toward the fuel tank assembly.
- Pinch the fuel tank vent hose sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.
- Pull off the fuel tank vent hose sub-assembly.
- Disconnect the fuel tank vent hose sub-assembly from the fuel vapor containment valve (fuel tank solenoid main valve assembly).

- Do not allow any scratches or foreign matter to get on the parts when disconnecting them as the tube connector has an O-ring that seals the pipe (fuel vapor containment valve (fuel tank solenoid main valve assembly)).
- Perform this work by hand. Do not use any tools.
- Do not forcibly bend, twist or turn the fuel tank vent hose sub-assembly.
- Protect the disconnected parts by covering them with plastic bags after disconnecting the fuel tank vent hose sub-assembly.
- If the tube connector and pipe (fuel vapor containment valve (fuel tank solenoid main valve assembly)) are stuck, push and pull to release them.
HINT:
Do not remove the retainer.
- Remove the 2 nuts and fuel vapor containment valve (fuel tank solenoid main valve assembly) from the fuel tank assembly.
- Remove the fuel tank vent hose sub-assembly from the fuel vapor containment valve (fuel tank solenoid main valve assembly).

- Push the fuel tank vent hose sub-assembly firmly toward the fuel vapor containment valve (fuel tank solenoid main valve assembly).
- Pinch the fuel tank vent hose sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.
- Pull off the fuel tank vent hose sub-assembly.
- Disconnect the fuel vapor containment valve (fuel tank solenoid main valve assembly) connector.
