On-Vehicle Inspection [11/2016 - ]: Procedure

- INSPECT CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL SOLENOID ASSEMBLY
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the power switch on (IG).
- Turn the Techstream on.
- Put the engine in inspection mode (maintenance mode).
- Start the engine.
- Inspect the camshaft timing oil control solenoid assembly (for intake side).
- Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Active Test / Control the VVT Linear (Bank 1) or Control the VVT Linear (Bank 2) / Data List / VVT Change Angle #1 or VVT Change Angle #2.
Powertrain > Engine and ECT > Active Test
Active Test Display Control the VVT Linear (Bank1) Data List Display VVT Change Angle #1 Powertrain > Engine and ECT > Active Test
Active Test Display Control the VVT Linear (Bank2) Data List Display VVT Change Angle #2 - Read the Data List while performing the Active Test with the engine idling.

Techstream Operation Data List (VVT Change Angle #1 or VVT Change Angle #2) -100% to 100% Varies by 70 DegFR or more HINT:
- Test not possible with the shift lever in P during charge control. Move the shift lever to N to perform test.
- If the DTCs are stored after the Active Test, clear the DTCs.
If the result is not as specified, check the camshaft timing oil control solenoid assembly, wire harness and ECM.
- Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Active Test / Control the VVT Linear (Bank 1) or Control the VVT Linear (Bank 2) / Data List / VVT Change Angle #1 or VVT Change Angle #2.
- Inspect the camshaft timing oil control solenoid assembly (for exhaust side).
- Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Active Test / Control the VVT Exhaust Linear (Bank 1) or Control the VVT Exhaust Linear (Bank 2) / Data List / VVT Ex Chg Angle #1 or VVT Ex Chg Angle #2.
Powertrain > Engine and ECT > Active Test
Active Test Display Control the VVT Exhaust Linear (Bank1) Data List Display VVT Ex Chg Angle #1 Powertrain > Engine and ECT > Active Test
Active Test Display Control the VVT Exhaust Linear (Bank2) Data List Display VVT Ex Chg Angle #2 - Read the Data List while performing the Active Test with the engine idling.
