Removal [02/2014 - 11/2016]: Procedure

  1. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT (for Engine) 

    See step  2

  2. REMOVE ECM 

    Refer to REMOVAL [02/2014 - 11/2016]

  3. REMOVE V-RIBBED BELT 

    Refer to REMOVAL [02/2014 - 11/2016]

  4. REMOVE COMPRESSOR WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [02/2014 - 11/2016]

  5. REMOVE EGR DELIVERY CHAMBER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8

  6. DISCONNECT NO. 2 RADIATOR HOSE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 28 , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 28

  7. REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE MOUNTING STAY RH (for Engine Mounting Stay Side) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 34 , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 34

  8. REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE MOUNTING STAY RH (for Intake Manifold Side) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10

  9. REMOVE ENGINE MOVING CONTROL ROD BRACKET 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 35 , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 35

  10. REMOVE NO. 2 TIMING GEAR COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 21

  11. SEPARATE REAR ENGINE MOUNTING INSULATOR ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 2 hole plugs.

    2. Remove the 2 nuts and separate the rear engine mounting insulator assembly.
  12. SEPARATE FRONT ENGINE MOUNTING INSULATOR ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the hole plug.

    2. Remove the 3 nuts and separate the front engine mounting insulator assembly.
  13. SEPARATE ENGINE MOUNTING INSULATOR RH 
    1. Remove the 2 hole plugs.

    2. Remove the 3 nuts and separate the engine mounting insulator RH.
  14. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET LH 
    1. Place a wooden block between a jack and the engine.

      Wooden Block Placement Location
      NOTE:

      Make sure to set a jack as shown in the illustration.

    2. Jack up the engine slightly.
      NOTE:

      Do not jack up the engine excessively.

    3. Using SST, remove the bolt.
      • SST: 09961-00950 

      HINT: 

      There is not enough clearance to completely remove the bolt from the front No. 1 engine mounting bracket LH. Remove the front No. 1 engine mounting bracket LH together with the bolt.

    4. Remove the 5 bolts.

    5. Remove the front No. 1 engine mounting bracket LH together with the bolt.
  15. REMOVE V-RIBBED BELT TENSIONER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 20

  16. REMOVE WATER INLET HOUSING 
    1. Slide the 2 clips and disconnect the water by-pass hose and oil cooler pipe.

      *1 Water By-pass Hose
      *2 Water Inlet Housing
      *3 Oil Cooler Pipe
    2. Remove the 2 bolts, nut and water inlet housing.
    3. Remove the 2 O-rings.

  17. REMOVE WATER PUMP PULLEY 
    1. Using SST, hold the water pump pulley.

      *a 12 mm Union Nut Wrench
      • SST: 09960-10010 
        1. 09962-01000
        2. 09963-00700
    2. Using SST and a 12 mm union nut wrench, remove the 4 bolts and separate the water pump pulley from the engine water pump assembly.
      • SST: 09961-00950 

      HINT: 

      There is not enough clearance to completely remove the water pump pulley from the water pump shaft. Remove the water pump pulley together with the engine water pump assembly.

  18. REMOVE ENGINE WATER PUMP ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 16 bolts, engine water pump assembly, water pump pulley and water pump gasket.
