TS and CG Terminal Circuit [02/2014 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM 
    1. Check if CAN communication system DTCs are output.

      Refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM [02/2014 - 11/2016] Refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM [11/2016 - ]

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTCs are not output. A
      DTCs are output. B

    Result:  2

    INSPECT CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [02/2014 - 11/2016]  Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [11/2016 - ] 

    Result:  1

  2. INSPECT DLC3 
    1. Turn the power switch on (IG).

      *a Front view of DLC3
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F25-12 (TS) - F25-4 (CG) Power switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V

      Result

      NG

  3. CHECK POWER STEERING ECU ASSEMBLY (TS of DLC3 INPUT) 
    1. Turn the power switch off.

    2. Using SST, connect terminals TS and CG of the DLC3.
      • SST: 09843-18040 
    3. Check that the EPS warning light is blinking.

      OK

      The EPS warning light is blinking.

      HINT: 

      If troubleshooting has been carried out according to Problem Symptoms Table, refer back to the table and proceed to the next step before replacing the parts.

      Refer to PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [02/2014 - ]

    Result:  1

    OK 

    REPLACE SKID CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [02/2014 - ] 

    Result:  2

    NG 

    REPLACE POWER STEERING ECU ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [02/2014 - ] 

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TS of DLC3 - POWER STEERING ECU ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Turn the power switch off.
    2. Disconnect the p1 power steering ECU assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F25-12 (TS) - p1-5 (TS) Always Below 1 Ω
      F25-12 (TS) or p1-5 (TS) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:  2

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result:  1

    OK

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CG of DLC3 - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      F25-4 (CG) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

  6. CHECK POWER STEERING ECU ASSEMBLY (TS of DLC3 INPUT) 
    1. Reconnect the p1 power steering ECU assembly connector.

    2. Using SST, connect terminals TS and CG of the DLC3.
      • SST: 09843-18040 
    3. Check that the EPS warning light is blinking.

      OK
