Security Indicator Light Does not Blink [02/2014 - 11/2016]: Procedure

  1. CHECK FOR DTC 
    1. Check for DTCs.

      Body Electrical > Smart Key > Trouble Codes 

      Powertrain > Hybrid Control > Trouble Codes 

      OK

      DTCs are not output.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:  2

    NG 

    GO TO DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART. Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [02/2014 - 11/2016] 

    Result:  1

    OK

  2. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (IMMOBILIZER INDICATOR) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Smart Key / Active Test.
    5. Perform the Active Test according to the display on the Techstream.

      Body Electrical > Smart Key > Active Test

      The security indicator light (clock assembly) operates normally.

  3. CHECK SECURITY INDICATOR LIGHT (CLOCK ASSEMBLY) OPERATION 
    1. When the immobilizer is set, check that the security indicator light (clock assembly) blinks.*1

      OK

      The security indicator light (clock assembly) blinks normally.

    2. When the theft deterrent system is in the arming preparation state, check that the security indicator light (clock assembly) illuminates.*2

      OK

      The security indicator light (clock assembly) illuminates normally.

      Result

      *1 is NG (*2 is OK) A
      *2 is NG (*1 is OK) B

    Result:  1

    REPLACE CERTIFICATION ECU (SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY). Refer to  REMOVAL [02/2014 - 11/2016]

    REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU). Refer to  REMOVAL [02/2014 - 11/2016] 

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CERTIFICATION ECU (SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY) - SECURITY INDICATOR LIGHT (CLOCK ASSEMBLY) - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the F11 certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) connector.
    2. Disconnect the G7 security indicator light (clock assembly) connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F11-20 (IND) - G7-9 (LP) Always Below 1 Ω
      F11-20 (IND) or G7-9 (LP) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      G7-8 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to

      NG

    Result:  2

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result:  1

    OK

  5. CHECK CERTIFICATION ECU (SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Connect the F11 certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) connector.
    2. Connect the G7 security indicator light (clock assembly) connector.
    3. Using an oscilloscope, check the waveform.

    REPLACE CERTIFICATION ECU (SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY). Refer to  REMOVAL [02/2014 - 11/2016]
